OK, time for a couple more dumb questions.
The major and minor actions of the monsters are stated to belong to their factions, not to individuals, right? And for the faction to activate the action, they must have that role alive and well? And since it’s a group action, that means that mayor actions, jailing, and dominate do not affect them?
I’m confused on this. So let me try and clarify. I still need a final pass on all the text before we go live.
Having a role unlocks the ability to be used for that faction. The person with that role must be alive and well. However, because we are restricted on what Major actions can be taken in a night, all actions are submitted by the faction leader (Dracula/Lucian), not the player with the role. However, the other actions can affect them.
Mayor action example:
Mayor locks players X and Y into the town hall with a Vampire Z that has Bite. Players A and and B are outside of town hall with a vampire C that has Assassinate. For the major action, Dracula can use Bite on player A or B, or can use Assassinate on player X and Y. But he cannot use Bite on player A, nor Assassinate on player X, because of the Town Hall Restriction.
Now, imagine the Jailer put Vampire C into Jail. This limits it so that Assassinate can not be used, reducing the available actions to Bite on X and Y.
Now for Dominate. Imagine Player X is really Werewolf X with Dominate. Werewolf X uses Dominate on Vampire Z. Now, I haven’t given order of actions yet, but in this case let’s assume Dominate takes place before Bite. Because of this, the Bite ability would be stopped from happening, even if it is submitted. The bite could also not be used the following night. (However I believe Dominate will kick it at the end of the night, thus making the Bite still go through, but not be available the next night. But just covering all scenarios).
Also, can we go through Clear Mind? Van Helsing gets bitten, and everything appears as if he’s converted (card says Initiate, but that’s probably a typo), but he secretly knows he’s still town? So he could actually be a Magneto-like guy? (Like the clone Magneto from the comics?)
Yes, exactly, that is what happens if he is bitten, he pretends to be a vampire/werewolf recruit but really is still considered town and is trying to win for the town.
Good… that opens up the door for some shenanigans. Well, actually, I don’t know if it’s good. I’ll have to wait and see what card I draw.
And EDIT (while I still can): if two factions try to bite the same person in the same night, is it similar to assassinate, and both factions get “scared off?”
Yes, that is what I planned, though it might not be explained properly in the rules as they’re written. 2 Bites = nullify eachother.
Rule Additions:
Order of Actions:
For the blocks, everything is designed to go off within a block at the same time. So for instance, a skill from Block A (i.e. possession) can alter/prevent a skill in a later Block (Faith), but a skill from Block C (Assassinate) cannot prevent a skill from Block B (Policework) from happening.
Day Action Order
Jail -> Town Hall (Jailed person is not considered to be inside of town hall)
Night Action Order
Block A
Possession, Bodyguard
Block B
Faith, Protection, Autopsy, Psychic, Policework, Bite, Stalk
Block C
Assassinate
Block D
Shapeshift, Dominate, The Cure, Promote, Eviscerate, Sacrifice
New Werewolf/Vampire recruit role
I meant for this to exist, I just never typed it up.
Celerity
Passive role. Grants access to an extra Major action in a night.
This opens up play styles I intended to be possible (like double Assassin) but wasn’t under the existing ruleset. It also takes at least 5 people to set up (Leader, Converter, 2 Assassins, 1 Celerity) and so only becomes effective late game, realistically, but would be a powerful end game setup if you’re focusing on brute force.

Chief, you realize that every sub ever had died quickly? The only reason I did so well last time was cause of my role.
Also, nice to have you back Vynce.

picking a player that ultimately turns into Chief
Chief/Bl.Jesus cards are on SvC:Chaos God Heaven stage, in comparison to the HellfireFuzzball place BG border
Between the lines, read you will.
That’s because Chief & BJ are civilian roles, and Vynce & I are Mafia ones.

Just skimmed through the roles. A little confusing, but not as much so as UMVC3.
If no Black Jesus I get reserve right?
I don’t understand this fascination with being on the reserve list. You can PM me if you really want to make a case for it
30 minutes until roles go out. If you havent signed up yet, this is your last chance!
Man, I was hoping this would go down next week. I have all these pre-Thanksgiving tests.
But thanksgiving is next week, that would be even worse lol

I plan on posting in the lounge here and there, regardless of my allegiance. This will be atypical of me. But I want to.
Put me on the roster Pimp. (Pimps are bad people, don’t flag me SRK grammar-bots).
+1 For hoping no one quits or gets DQ’d for the first time ever.

61.538% chance to get a role… I like these odds.
Roles locked. PMs being sent out. Game starting soon.
I didn’t miss the start…
But I have almost 7 straight classes today.
This is going to be fun…
Hopefully this ish has started when I get on break from my first class.
