The survivors slept in late that next morning. In the wake of all their losses, the threat of the undead seemed tame.
“It’s funny, who’d have thought in a zombie apocalypse, it would be humans who are the biggest danger.” mused Ben Perkins.
“Um, anybody who’s ever seen a zombie movie before” said Black Jesus
“Or played a zombie video game” added SoVi3t.
“Or even watched the fucking Walking Dead at least once” said Cyntalan.
“Oh, I didn’t own a TV, so I wouldn’t know.” sighed Ben Perkins.
It was all Oerba could do not to punch the hipster in his face right then.
Exodus disappeared to the comic shop for a moment, and returned with a TPB of ‘The Walking Dead.’
“I suggest you read up.” said Exodus, plopping the book onto the food court table in front of Ben Perkins.
“So look, let’s get down to business” said Missing Person. “Some of us motherfuckers are still in this stupid cult. What do we know so far?”
“Well, Dramatix was in the cult. And he seemed… off.” said RedBeard. “Maybe all their members are a bit off?”
“It’s true,” chimed in Doofensmirtz. “What more do we know about Dramatix?”
“Fuck it, just kill me. You know you want to” said BullDancer.
Everyone stopped momentarily, and stared quizzicaly at him.
“Ok, so BullDancer may be a bit off as well. But what more do we know about Dramatix?” said Doofensmirtz.
“Well, he only had one friend in here. Ben Perkins.” said Black Jesus.
Ben Perkins was lost in thought, reading through the chapters of the Walking Dead.
“That’s true. He kept telling us how Dramatix was a good guy, remember?” said Bious. “And then his friend ended up part of the cult.”
“Look, guys, I know I’m the new guy around here” said LimeGreenPatato, “But is it fair to accuse a guy just because of the company he kept?”
“Can it, new guy” said Kaz. “I think we got ourselves a lead.”
“Yeah, what do you have to say for yourself Ben?” asked Orochizoolander.
“Hmm? Oh, can you believe this?” said Ben Perkins. “The dudes been in the hospital for a month and his partner is boning his wife. What a dick.”
“Yeah, like we said… somethings a bit off with these cult guys.” said Shinkuu Tatsumaki.
“Ben, seriously, if you got something to say, spead up” said DaRabidDuckie.
“Guys, just kill me already, please. I want to prove I know who the cult is, kill me and you’ll know I’m right.” yelled BullDancer again.
“We’ll deal with you in a minute, BullDancer” said GBS Giovanni
Ben was hooked on the comic. “Guys, how come nobody gave me this earlier? This is like a survival guide to the zombie apocalypse. I should have been reading this weeks ago! Guys… Guys?”
Everyone was surrounding the table, staring at him. He placed a bookmark into the comic, to mark his page, before standing up abruptly.
“Where’s his tattoo?” said Kaz, ripping the shirt from his back. The rest of the crowd was clawing at them, each trying to find proof of his cult membership.
“Stop it, jesus. Back off!” screamed Ben Perkins, pushing back over the booth and kicking at the crowd. They kept coming at him, a wave of flesh, clawing, reaching for him, talking unintelligable words. For a split second, it seemed like a group of Risen was after him, but he snapped out of it and tried to run. Somebody caught his foot, sending him sprawling to the ground.
“Quick, toss that Cult bastard outside!” somebody screamed, and before he came to his full senses, he was hoisted up and being carried by the crowd. Doofensmirtz was fumbling with the chains to the food court doors, unhooking it so they could toss him outside. Once the doors were opened, the crowd tossed Ben Perkins outside. The noise of him hitting the pavement attracted the attention of a few zombies, who were fighting over a cold dog corpse nearby. The survivors chained the doors shut again.
Ben Perkins stood himself up, dusted himself off, and said “I ain’t even mad.”
“Dude, you could have at least defended yourself. You didn’t even try! You must be part of the cult” said Exodus.
Ben Perkins stopped, and through the glass, stared him directly in the eye. “I’m not part of the cult. I’m just done with living.”
The Risen had shambled to within arms reach of him, but Ben didn’t even try to avoid their claws. He turned and faced the two with a look of serenity on his face. Right before the zombies lunged in for the last bite, he turned his head over his shoulder to watch all the survivors staring at him.
“Check the book” he said. And with that, the risen had chomped down on him, tackling him to the floor. The scent of blood filled the air, enough to attract the attention of all the risen for a mile, as it drifted through the dewey morning fog. Amidst the screams, Ben Perkins last words on this earth were “Marn and Michonne!”
Oerba rushed back to the table to find the copy of the Walking Dead TPB. The rest of the survivors gathered around to watch. He opened the book to where the bookmark was, looked around the page for a clue, something… but found nothing. “There’s nothing here” said Oerba.
“Give me that” said Cyntalan, snatching the bookmark. He looked it over, and his faced dropped a bit.
"Ben Perkins, "said Cyntalan. “Resident Nurse.” He flipped the bookmark so the crowd could see it; it was his Nurse’s ID from the local hospital.
“A Male Nurse? What the fuck is the world coming to” said Black Jesus.
“Is anybody going to kill me yet? I’m ready to be taken seriously” continued Bulldancer.
The survivors let out a collective sigh.

I’m not sure what to make of Orochi’s voting pattern now. He voted with Dramatix last day, then today he votes against the grain again, this time for kaz.
Either he’s trying really hard to point a person in the right direction this round, or he’s trying to show a random voting pattern on purpose so we rule him out as mob.
Glad I went with my gut on this one, but I’m not sure about BullDancer anymore either. He may be telling the truth after all, or at least partial truth.
The mafia is not showing us anything through the votes. Time to dissect every post.
It may be wise to follow Beta’s list after all, but we can’t keep taking stabs in the dark right now. We need to figure something out, and we’ve lost a key role in finding something out.
