Either way, you highlighted the point I’m making. If there is absolutely no argument against lynching a target there should be a problem with that. Everyone has to vote, do basically, if the target is Mafia you acknowledge that Mafia wants that person killed too… which doesn’t make sense.

I think it’s time to enable lurker mode. When I bring up things to talk about, nobody wants to comment. When people make accusations against me with bad holes in logic, I’m getting attacked for apparently not posting. Wake up this morning, and it’s basically like it never happened. Everyone is back on the GCL train, which is fine he’s not a bad lynch in my opinion, it’s just that now I realize actually being a contributor is only hurting my game.

I’ll be here, voting, being a number to help us win, but not so sure I’ll be going out of my way to contribute or drum up new discussion unless specifically asked my opinion.

As the game draws closer to an end, this may change, but I think it’s smarter for me to step back for a bit and let others run the show.

As such, guess it’s time to go with the majority

You’re correct. The only time mafia would vote one of their own would be when that person is almost certainly going to be lynched anyway. At this point in day phase with 2 hours left, the tally isn’t going to change drastically. GCL will have the most votes, nobody’s going to gain more than him in 2 hours. At this instance in time, GCL is almost certainly going to be lynched.
Carefully watch the lynch votes from this point on. And we need to go back and see exactly when everyone first voted GCL or switched their vote to GCL. I’d wager that mafia wouldn’t vote for him until at least a third of the game did.

Interestingly enough, I agree with the idea that Mafia would probably pick where to jump on to a band wagon.

I believe that if Mafia wanted to kick off a bandwagon, they would pick a civ that has been in the conference room (questioned by others) already then work on getting the wagon built by kicking off votes early.

And if they see that a Mafia member was being targeted, they would try to deflect attention first, but if they fail, they would jump on the bandwagon late.

This activity would be difficult to monitor but not impossible.

It’ll take some time since people can change their votes. I won’t be able to get a list of everyone’s votes with times until late tonight, but it might prove useful.

Since we’re only a little more than an hour away, looks like the lynch target for today is more or less confirmed. With that in mind, I don’t think it’ll be a problem if I place my vote elsewhere.

Just to clarify, I am perfectly fine with discussing what I think the Mafia will do in this thread. We civs don’t have an alternate form of communication so its important that we are all know what each others thoughts are.

Honestly, the exposure of civ plans is part of the game so it shouldn’t be taken as such.

I agree–the idea that we would collectively figure things out and be able to hide them effectively is presumptuous at best, and harmful to us at worst (since there are those among us civs who would not understand it lest it’s explicitly spelled out.)

I was rereading the thread to look for the vote tallies and I saw this again. Vynce raises a good point, why would a mafia want to lynch Hecatom?

-Hecatom’s civ. Our UC now knows that he’s the real UC. We lose a civ. Good trade for us, one life for the confirmation of multiple allegiances by UC
-Hecatom’s vigi. Our UC now knows that he’s the dUC. We lose our vigi. I don’t think Bious could’ve known that though, nothing Hecatom posted stood out as “Psst guys I’m Vigi”
-Hecatom’s mafia. Our UC now knows that he’s the dUC. They lose a mafia member. No way in hell did this happen, Hecatom was willing to get himself lynched

That’s why he outed himself in the thread, to distract us from lynching Hecatom and lynching him instead. That’s why he was grandstanding and playing everything up, to steal the spotlight from Hecatom. And we jumped at the bait, glad we finally lynched a mafia on purpose.
