SRK Lounge Ver 18. The Swedish Chef Edition

Not necessarily. There are a lot of people who thing that the government wastes a ridiculous amount of money or otherwise spends it poorly.

Here in California whenever someone is pushing for a tax raise or trying to downplay the idea of cutting jobs, they always talk about what a bad idea it is to fire and teachers firefighters. As if there is no other waste going on in the state government, the educational system, etc. It would be like if you needed to save money in your own personal life, but you would complain that it’s impossible because you need to pay rent.

The implication of this argument is that the government can never under any circumstances become too big or have too much influence (any shrinking is hazardous), or that all money taken in by the government goes to good use. I would assume you don’t believe that this is the case.

TL;DR- if essential infrastructure is really the first thing to be cut, then THAT is the problem.

This is true.

And as for those who want to live with a bare minimum of government-related services, I have no problem with them doing so.

man, people need to wrap their shit up. im just checkin my fb, so many people are preggo lately. is it like that time of the year to get pregnant or give birth. alot of these people have no fuckin buisness having children. how bout you graduate from community college and move out your momma’s house before you start poppin kids out?

i wasn’t making a theoretical statement, i was speaking in reality.

government isn’t too big, so pretending it is and bitching about it is pointless at best and calamitous at worst. i’d be more inclined to argue that given what the majority of people expect from their government it’s probably not big enough. big business is what’s fucking people in the ass on a daily basis, yet everyone is completely fine with letting them do whatever they want while trying to throttle the one entity (government) that would be capable of keeping it them in check.

government is at times corrupt and inefficient, both fixable issues unrelated to size.

^ Bailouts for big business= solution then?

What the fuck were we thinking?

Don’t eat the crab dip, yay yay…

are you serious hahahahhaha. that bitch and her friend were hella tryin to hop my dick when i visited you.

good to know you gonna be a dad rock

lol its gonna be half black uh?

lol interesting article on shit we knew as kids…but “adults” havent figured out til now

as a little kid i knew the hypocracy of this and the culture of america. oh 2 fbombs=a rated r movie…but beheading fools=pg-13

i think they need to overhaul the rating system to allow for swears in movies for teenagers, no an overabundance…but the rating system has not evolved with the times at all. fbombs just arent the end all to be all of swear words anymore.

The MPAA ratings are the industry’s self-imposed censorship guidelines. Of course they’re marketing tools. Very useful ones. No self-respecting business would ever restrict itself unless it could use it as a pretext for making money.

In the age of the Internet, there are so many independent organizations, easily accessible, that the only advantage of the official system is the power of enforcability. I’d say that serves no purpose except to be the parent when actual parents fall down on the job. I say just scrap the MPAA ratings and force parents to make a more informed decision.

sometimes its super hard as a parent to make an informed decision for movies. look at the transformers series 1 and 2 were relatively kid friendly…3 fucking went crazy above those in terms of violence.

I thought the same about Captain America and True Grit. Both of those were pretty graphic for PG-13.

Ggs yesterday to that man rockyb in tekken6. I’m expecting good things son. Like u repping the lounge @ evo next year.

You’re better than I tbought you’d be. But I was still 20 matches up on you before I left

Rock trolled me with bob though. Can’t even lie lol.

PG13=R-the word fuck.

pretty sure its 2 fucks min to make it R.

I Started watching Torchwood Miracle day on Starz this season and then I decided to catch up on the previous seasons which I hadn’t seen, 2 things I found out

  1. its like watching two different shows
  2. everyone in england is gay or Bi sexual.

I’ve been avoiding watching doctor Who for 15 years maybe I’ll give it a look now.
Also Freema Agyeman :wow:

ABC Family has been showing Beetlejuice on a regular basis it seems.

How did Michael Keaton not get an Oscar for his performance in this?

I can understand why a lot of people shit on it, especially comic book readers but…I like the Constantine movie. I think it’s pretty cool.

I liked it alot too. Fuck hate

make sure to watch the miniseries that is after the show. lol…it explains sum stuff you dont understand in miracle day.

i really liked that movie

Are you talking about the one after season 2? I’ll probably start it tomorrow, I’m two episodes away from the end of season 2.
Its also weird starting from miracle day because I spent every episode of season one and two waiting for what I already know happens.
