No. No! Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Justin fighting back with just cyclops is cooler then that parry. Demon Hyo perfecting Dark Prince in 07 is better imo.
soviet: as far as MMORPG’s go, i would not classify wow as any sort of grind until you are starting to get end game gear and even then - grinding in that is nothing compared to korean mmo’s (ro as an example). it’s too long to walk from quest point a -> b and even killing monsters to grind exp and not quest prevents grinding due to the levels on monsters needing to be a certain level for you to even gain exp or not get raped.
now, RO was a game where you truly had to grind. i kinda miss that shit, oddly enough. that’s the masochist in me tho, enjoying a day or two of grinding out with a handful of breaks.
if you don’t want to re-buy diablo2 you should get titan’s quest and it’s expansion instead. that game is fucking great.
i was reading about that and apparently bow wow isn’t even 5 foot son lol. mother fucker is 4 something, what the fuck is he doing trying to play kobe for a g? give that shit to charity or invest in an anti rape kit.
nope, i still say justin’s cable comeback is the best shit i’ve seen.
I miss everquest sometimes, but then I remember how it takes about 10 solid minutes to kill an imp and remembered that it’s probably the nostalgia glasses making me gaze upon that game with fond memories
(I think that I’ll probably end up listening to Lavender Town remixes next time I’m awake at night.)
Hmm…this This Mysterious Human Heart program on PBS/KQED is rather interesting. So of course I would turn it off for 20 minutes. Stupid me. Stupid heart…
I was going to change that video before she started talking because I thought it was just one of your pervy ones, but I have to admit she was somewhat amusing. It would be nice to not have to stare at the inside of her nose, though, especially given that it bothered me for reasons besides that.
Also, probably. I haven’t seen the commercial in question–I hate car commercials–or even seen him again, but, hey, people need work, especially since it’s not like Heroes is even on anymore. Let’s hope he’s not a Mohinderance to Nissan either.
They don’t. They just chose to focus on the reboot films, probably because they’re what the average (dumb-ass) joe knows the best.
Regardless, I cracked up as soon as they pointed out the train thing. I hadn’t realized that he essentially destroyed part of his parents’ legacy just to foil Ra’s plans. Cold-blooded…
I’m hardly the biggest fan of Mario, but those are quite good. I’m not really a big fan of Zelda either, but his rendition of Link is excellent.
i never played EQ. i went from ultima online to ragnarok, with a very small stint of anarchy online in there somewhere lol.
I miss that about MMO’s though. Where it was actually a challenge and some quests took 6 months to complete.
But that doesn’t bring in

Cause the majority of MMO players are too lazy for that.
Hell, even Ragnarok Online had more challenging quests than any American mainstream MMO.
I remember walking around in a circle dodging holes for 30 mins to get my Monk class. Or EQ having dragons that would spawn every few days and having a guild camp them.
The Cable comeback, Cyclops Comeback, or when Soo OCV’d JWong FREEEEEE are my top hypes for MvC2
Top hype for SF3 was the first time I ever saw Boss. That shit was more bananas than that Daigo parry.
Super Turbo hype: Afro getting shat on my Daigo and that match when Komoda got locked the fuck down by Alex Wolfe. Speaking of Komoda… All of this… Komoda’s FULL COMEBACK WITH BLANKA against Daigo and company at XM. Shit was wonderful (Starts at 1:46) I forget the Ken player, but after him, he smacked Yaya and Daigo

EDIT:
More MvC2 hype… When Sanford knocked Wong out for the first time at ECC
When Yipes won Evo
Duc vs. Sanford MM
Yeah… those things.
ro was fun but holy hell it was grindy
RO was fun when you found private servers where grinding a single level wasn’t the work of months.
naw, i was all about that real grind. shit i ended up having 7, 99/70 characters and that isn’t counting all the other characters i maxed for friends and my roommates accounts.
that did take a lot of work though, much less so at the end when it was me and 1 other person playing 6 characters and pulling over 20m exp/hour lol.
Normally, how long would it take to go from 98 to 99?
yeah i played Quebec RO and RebirthRO, then i switched to the grindfest of the official server when it was free, ValkryieRO
God I miss playing RO. That game was quite fun. Even though Archers and Mages pissed you off when they would just steal kills or kill shit you were running towards. However:
this
shut up, that was also awesome
The thing I’ve noticed about WoW is that it forcefeeds you quests out the ass. Here, go deliver this letter to Jim over at Azure Watch. You go to see Jim, and he gives you two quests, and the 4 NPC’s standing around him give you 7 more quests. Suddenly you have like 18 quests to do. I’ve had a quest to deliver a fucking letter FOUR FEET AWAY. Seriously, I got more XP from something that NPC should have EASILY been able to do, then killing a boss. WTF?
The RO OG’s will probably remember the joys of “rock priestesses”, chilling on top of shit farming cyclops all day and not allowing you to get anything done. Ah, good times.
at this point, i have no idea how long it takes since they changed pretty much everything from exp needed to how much gained. back when i played, if you solo’ed 98-99, and depending on the class and your available gear, 1m+ an hour was the standard. so for 100m exp it would take 100 hours.
going through the levels again as a trans class you needed 3x the amount of experience for each level. 98-99 was 375m the 2nd run through.
that shit changed completely once my crew got god items (and gtb/hero/osi cards) though. during experience events we could knock out 99’ing a character in a weekend. that is, both normal and trans 99’ing.
that’s not accurate at all unless of course it’s the end of a long quest chain which grants you the award for that particular story line. And the questing count is meant to stream line the leveling process as people are more apt to keep playing if they feel they are constantly doing something constructive rather than just hacking away at rats int he field. The fact that you are complaining about an improvement over the old school mmo format is amusing. WoW fucked up on a lot of shit, none of which has to do with their quest structure.
man looking through these old ro pics is kind of cool. i almost want to play the game again, but i know it would be horrible.
my pally http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/199/screenymir037.jpg/
it would appear all my screenshots of my 99/70 champs and my master smith with gear are on another drive i don’t have hooked up right now, i’ll prob look around later when i get home and post a few pics of some high level shenanigans if anyone would like to see.
My fondest memory is of my lvl 255 gunslinger. Hurray for being a mod on a private server.
i miss the days of sitting around an orc camp all day killin orcs as opposed to having to run errywhere
yeah, orc camps… good times. killing the orcs, then having the ppl who rp as orcs show up and then killing them.
