Indeed, based solely on those numbers, yes, blacks would be disproportionately killed more. Those numbers don’t tell the entire story.

However, when you account for how more often blacks actually interact with the police, via arrests/stops, etc the story changes. If there are say, 2000 arrests of whites that go along with your numbers, then there’d be around 20000 arrests of blacks. 1000 whites dead out of 2000 arrests, versus 250 dead blacks dead from 20000 arrests.

Yes, blacks are arrested more overall, commit more crime overall, and are probably brutalised more overall. But in terms of just deaths, nothing else, whites are killed more overall, and are likely to be killed more for any given police interaction.

Those are the numbers as I can see it. That’s all I can see.
