my mom was almost that person last month during the floods. she was at the non-mansion and thought she could take her 96 Volvo out to go get something to eat. she got stuck trying to drive down the newly formed-lake road and got stuck. car stopped. it was right in front of our neighbor’s house and they pulled her off the street. she waited 15 minutes and tried to start the car. it started, so she drove right back into the water and got it stuck in deeper water. car is still dead to this day. her reasoning? “i was hungry so i wanted to drive down the street to get food. i thought i could make it.” terrible judgement; terrible experience.
