I really, really, REALLY wanted to like it.
But in the end it was just a lesser RE4 crossed with Uncharted play mechanics.
I don’t mind downgrading to a lesser RE4.
A lesser RE4 is still better than anything not RE4, without being Deadspace 1 or 2.
But I ain’t even about that Faux PS3 Batman style play in survival horror games.
I loved the game and if I wasn’t leaving on Tuesday I’d give it another playthrough like I’ve been intending to. :tup:
Bethesda has been killing it as a publisher lately. The Evil Within, Wolfenstein: The New Order/The Old Blood, DOOM, RAGE, Dishonored. Good games all around, which is a huge difference compared to the middle of last-gen where they were giving us quality hits like these:
Rogue Warrior was so bad that it was good in a strange way, but Hunted was just…bad.

RE4 isn’t that great either, RE2 is still the GOAT I can’t wait for the remake.

It is actually a pseudo-horror themed Uncharted, but with terri-bad acting, worse controls and cheaper insta-gibs.
Both RE4 and RE2 are the most overrated games in the series.
I think the cheesy-ass voice acting was done on purpose as a throwback to the cheesy-ass voice acting of horror games in general.

I was just deducting points for its losing one of the better aspects of Uncharted.
RE2 was the first RE game I played and on N64, if that’s true it’s funny both games were made by which is now P*
