So you remember that book I was trashing here for its awful writing titled Luckiest Girl Alive?
I think that book is required reading for all of you.
Awful writing aside (you guys read shitty comics anyway), the book will help you guys be more empathetic to girls who claim rape months after it actually occurs. The character goes through the rape but for months denies it, believing it was her fault it happened in the first place. She still hangs out with her rapists and it almost happens to her again even after she said no and he got violent.
Most importantly, it grabs the loneliness of the aftermath of rape, not only when you’re surrounded by people but after they brandish you a slut for it. That was the part that stuck with me the most.
Looking forward to all the disagrees and shit responses this post is going to get.
