I tried to learn photoshop. I failed. All I could ever use was the blending options. Emboss and stroke.
But since ditching Windows for Linux I have GIMP. I have no clue how to use that either. Can’t find the emboss and stroke functions.

I really need a place of solitude in my apartment. Too bad my wife got one instead.
The guest bedroom has no bed in it, it just houses a desk and the router. Then her wireless magically stopped working only on our router. So I had to hardwire it to the router, so now she has laid claim to the entire guest bedroom.
I can’t use the master bedroom, the wireless signal doesn’t reach there, like it’s a perpetual dead zone. I could maybe get a wireless repeater, but I don’t know if she would call that a waste of money.
Currently, I sit out in the open in the living room, and it’s not cutting it. Not because I can’t do anything there (I can), but despite her saying that can be my place of solitude, she constantly calls my name from her “office,” and asks me to do inane crap, since I’m just sitting in the living room “doing nothing.”
And when I play vidya games from the living room, she complains (from both bedrooms) that it’s too loud when I can’t even hear it. So, no matter what, I’m jacked.
Thought about partitioning off the guest room with paper walls or something (it’s China, certainly I could find something like this), then set myself up a desk in there.
It’s either that or the repeater and a desk in the master bedroom (which is pretty cramped for putting a desk in, but I could make it work somehow). Basically, I would just settle for a place where if I’m there, she knows not to bug me incessantly, that I can work on my computer or do soldering work from undisturbed.
And the only place, FYI, for a desk in the living room is where the air conditioning unit’s going, so that’s a bust.

What you need is a garage, but in China, I’m not too sure how that works. Oh well. I wish for the same thing.

I’m scared to even have a garage in China, I’m scared someone would run over me, then not report it or run over me 5 more times just to make sure I’m dead, then run over me once more as punishment for getting blood on their tires.
Man, if the traffic in China is so bad that you could get ran over in your own garage, I don’t know what to say. And I thought Texas drivers were bad.
Not really traffic, just the drivers are equivalent to the old people in that South Park episode where they are trying to find the Country Kitchen Buffet and commits vehicular manslaughter.
