It’s a mobile game on iOS and Android, and I picked it up the other day when I realized I had $1 in Amazon credit.
It’s basically a strategy game where you’re a plague, and you spread as quickly as possible through a variety of methods of transmission such as rodents, air or water-borne pathogens, blood, and more. But, you have to be careful how fast and severely you spread, because you’ll eventually be discovered and people will try to develop a cure. The more dangerous you are, the harder the humans fight.
You start off as bacteria but as you win scenarios, you unlock more disease types (such as viruses, spores, parasites, bio-weapons, and even nanotech bugs) The novelty of naming your disease something like “eSports”, “Democracy”, or “Your Mom” wears off after a few games, but holy shit is the game fun.
Short version: it’s a game where you fuck humanity as quickly and stealthily as possible. It’s the best $1 I’ve ever spent.

Did Prey 2 ever come out? I remember reading the storyline and gameplay had like nothing to do with the first game, and I never read another article or looked for the game after that.
Such a shame, cuz the first Prey, although it was pretty fucking basic, is probably one of the best FPS games I have ever played.
