SRK Lounge the It's too early for me to think of something edition

“White women? This is SRK, we send pretty Asian boys to Japan for free.”

I 'd at that one.

This is true.

I’m glad Valaris didn’t delete that racewar flamebait of a thread. The fact that the poster used one of the most plastic black women around to represent was hilarious.

WTH are people making Valaris work this week? Did the holidays unleash some new SRK hater accounts due to grandma getting them a copy of UMVC3 or something?

this nigga really took the time to critique this shit hahhaha

lol this vid is the truth…doesnt just apply to black girls.

gambit showed that even if you have super duper powers, you didn’t have to let them be your main thing, thats why he had a stick

Nah.

What Gambit showed was that, if you became REALLY popular, then comic companies would force their writers to preemptively retcon your being a piece of shit murderous traitor out of the story arc, and pin it on the black guy.

As far as I can tell, no.

No idea, the history is intact and he went back to join the Marauders for his own reasons during the Messiah stuff. Unless it’s in one of the very recent (As in November and up) revamped X-Titles then it’s still in place.

He was originally created to be the betrayed that killed the X-Men in Bishop’s timeline, and Bishop was meant to be a hero who stopped him, when he went back in time.

And for all intents and purposes, yes, Gambit being a Marauder was retconned, with his being “obliged” to help Sinister, but not really because he did not “personally” kill any Morlocks.

C’mon, son - step your Mahvel “unwritten” history game up.

Read the articles where the original creative team discusses what their intentions were with Gambit and Bishop.

The higher ups forced them to change the story when Gambit became too popular in their eyes to villainize, let alone kill off.

It’s his forte, Gambit can always get out of it with charm and explosions after all.

If it’s not in a comic, it didn’t happen. Plenty of shit has the whole “supposed to happen” aspect but got change. I think the only time I’ve seen supposed to shit in comics happen was Claremont finishing his X-Men run recently.

Plus Bishop kind of sucked, and is an asshat for trying to kill a baby a few years ago.

i like the old westbluesman music he has in the cartoon

I think they were trying to appeal to the Redneck demographic by making him a cowboy black mutant with a mullet and stupid powers.

Who is Hope and why is she a baby Phoenix?

What happened to Jean Grey?

Is this one of those situations like the Batman situation in the last lounge thread where I should just live out my lounge life in bliss ignorance?

Also, I’m bringing it back

Jean grey died like 8 or so years ago, she was replaced with the more interesting Emma Frost on the team (Jean is due back this summer though).

Hope is the first mutant born after Scarlet Witch said no more mutants, meaning she was bullshitting and it was a big deal. Cable ended up taking her into the future to train her and she aged, returning to our time as a 20ish adult or whatever. She’s basically Jean but gun savvy and leading her own group.

Nah.

Scarlet Witch wasn’t bullshitting.

Remember when Beast went for help with the matter to Dr. Strange, and Dr. Strange showed him the warp and weave of the Universe, and how it WAS, in fact impossible for any more mutants to be born?

But Scarlet Witch ain’t got shit on the will of a Cosmic Entity like The Phoenix Force.

So of course muties are going to make a comeback.

Phoenix’s BFF host was a mutant, after all. :coffee:

I never liked Phoenix, so fuck her Jabs lol.

I want to read Children’s Crusade, hear a lot of praise for it and it helps explore Scarlet Witch.

Fuck you, son
