I enjoy both early Funk and the later electronic experiments, I think the latter was the sign of the times though honestly…
Also I think I was one of the few non-blacks to know of Morris Day pre-Jay and Silent Bob.
High School? Bit of everything but mostly 80’s music of all kinds. I enjoy the period of music and the evolution of different forms at the time. People just assumed I was retro and I went along with it.

At 15 or so, I was just getting into the guitar, so I was listening to a lot of guitar hero type stuff. Hendrix, Van Halen, Ozzy w/Randy Rhoads, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, and so on. You know.
After a few years, I’d gotten my chops together, and my understanding of the instrument led me to other styles of music that feature it less prominently or not at all. I like to think that my tastes have been evolving ever since, though I still have a soft spot for that old stuff.
(Old in terms of my history as a listener, rather than the age of the music. Antonin Dvorak and Thelonious Monk are somewhat older than Ozzy Osbourne.)
I’d love to do more stuff with Tyrannovox. I was just listening to our first album not too long ago, after not listening to it for a long time. It’s really good.
Unfortunately, our singer has been busy with life and everybody else is working on other projects in the meantime. So who knows when or if we’ll reconvene.
Why? Geddy Lee doesn’t wear that lame shit.

Eurythmics “Here comes the Rain again” shits all over “Sweet Dreams” in my opinion. Crystal Method reminded me of Crystal Castles, so now I must listen to them.

Trivia: this is the only song we tracked live, meaning that we all stood in the room and played together. Only the vocals were added later. I’m on the right in the stereo mix.
Solos and jam section were improvised. Near the end of my solo (after the first chorus), the shit hits the fan and you can hear me scrambling to fix it. My favorite “me” moment on the album.

Here Comes the Rain Again is great in that Vangelis “This is amazing as its own style of music” way, but the instrumentals in Sweet Dreams are pretty sick: Teenage Dreams vs Sweet Dreams by VoiceDude. I would almost listen to that non-shamefully. And maybe actively enjoy it with the other Austrians. :\
