I can’t bring myself to care given all the other stuff that’s happened this week already, however, including my Internet continuing to randomly die and resurrect on me like it’s Tails, especially if I’m actually on Youtube. As such, I’ll just pretend that what you said is somehow relevant and move on.
I’ve never read or even heard of Dissection Girl, but @Stabby got me into Junji Ito a while ago, so if he’s still around, he’d generally be a good person to ask about this if not the best, @XthAtGAm3RGuYX.
As for my “favorite” work by Ito, I don’t really have favorite anythings, but if we’re going only by longer works of his, then I think of the three I’ve read–Uzumaki, Gyo and Hellstar Remina–so far, Hellstar Remina is my “favorite” despite the fact it’s one that ends on the most hopeful note. I got a bunch of other people in the lounge years ago to read Uzumaki and we kind of agreed that it jumps the shark after Chapter 9 or whatever the Chapter the Lighthouse chapter is. As for Gyo, it’s overall concept is rather silly and yet it’s arguably the most depressing work of the three in spite of that.
If we’re going by overall works though, then I think Long Dream is the one that’s my “favorite” just because it’s one that had the most impact on me and is thus the one I remember the most as well being the set of horrible circumstances most able to happen in real life outside of that one about the “weird” neighbor perhaps.

It would’ve been nice to take off Thursday and Friday following this holiday to create a “5-day weekend”…yeahhhh I should’ve done that. I’ve taken 3 naps today and it was such a great feeling. I only went outside to get mail…the rest of the day has been spent on the couch, fading in and out of Dream World, watching live streams on twitch and eating leftover pizza… the last place I want to go tomorrow is to work.
Oh yeah and I got in a bit of playtime with Soul Sacrifice Delta as usual… finally sacrificed a longtime ally “Venatar” during one of my recent battles…the magic that was released by his sacrifice ended up killing that monster we were fighting…such is the sorcerer’s way. It may be a few more years before I even start getting tired of playing this legendary game.

Lesson for you rookies at the supposed end of my night…i have wings, pizza, potato wedges, dipping sauces, and a chicken shawarma on the way…you know what my advice is? Make sure you go 50/50 on blow with an idiot, especially when he offers to split the bill, even more especially when you hide half the count when he goes to the bathroom because it was probably cut with baby laxative and thats why he needs to go shit while you set aside the rest of the blow for when you are alone and waiting for pizza.
