I don’t get the American saying of “you can’t have your cake and eat it”. I can get how outsiders are horribly confused by these things. Some of these sayings make no sense even if you’re a completely fluent English speaker (more so, in some cases).
I mean, it’s a claw removal. As far as I can tell, you can’t follow up with a strike. Why shouldn’t you be able to safely take off your claw in a block string?
