WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW Snake Eyez match in top 16 was stopped because SE noticed green hand didn’t go as far as it should…so then he and everyone else realized the top 64 on down was played on an old version of SF4… version 1.03 not the newest 1.04 where there are balance changes…now some matches are being replayed.
Ethics question: if any player especially any japanese invite KNEW the whole time the tournament was being run on the 1.03 version yet didn’t say anything because it benefitted their character (E. Ryu got nerfed in 1.04) does that mean they should be punished? What does NCR tournament staff do now? How do we know which matches should be replayed and which shouldn’t? I’d be sooo salty if I won in top 16 of a major only to be told I have to replay my match then I lose and am out of the tournament.
Replaying the matches was the right move. They had to run it back because that’s the version they said they were going to play. Obviously they can’t go all the way back but they can replay the ones they are having tonight.
Also, no one is required to say something about the version differences. That’s not their job. They come to play, not to run the tournament for NCR.
It’s jus such a colossal fuckup on part of NCR TO’s it’s a black eye for them twitter will blow up and NCR will most likely have a lower turn out next year FGC holda dat salt and doesn’t forget, a lto of people in IRC said they wouldn’t go back next year if they were playing in top 16.

Henry is king scumbag so I don’t know where he gets the balls to go at those players. Again, if they had a favorable outcome they aren’t obliged to call it out. I wouldn’t. Hell, I bet Snake Eyez only called it out because it would have cost him a win. No one is going to give up an advantage that no one else caught.
No, they shouldn’t punish someone for what is the tournament organizer’s fault. even if that player figured it out before they did. There’s no way to prove it, so why bother? They should replay ALL matches. If people get do-overs in a bracket then everyone should get them.
The best thing about seeing Poongko take off his shirt, prior to the continued rapage from Smug, was the symbolism of real fights in the hood. Nobody wants to waste poverty money on a torn/dirty shirt if you bout to get your wig split lol
