Nic Cage face?

The image macro that basically IS that post. You just removed the face. You know, with the whole crackdown on image replies.

The “YOU DON’T SAY” meme is from a bad nicolas cage movie

Wait that’s pretty redundant, almost all of his movies are bad

Don’t hurt me g00dy

I don’t know what you’re talking about.

I’m sure its 100% bullshit though, so don’t post it.

Speaking of bullshit…

Scott Campbell painted up a bunch of “showdowns” and had people pick 5 of their favs, and he would make the 5 into prints. Here is the full list.

So what got chosen? The lamest ones, of course. Scott Pilgrim, Shaun of the Dead, Muppets, Pans Labyrinth, and Willy Wonka. I voted for the last two, but Scott Pilgrim? Cmon now. The only reason its up there is because its blown way out of proportion. Its good, sure, but I mean… Akira is on there! The Thing! Exit Through the Gift Shop! Happy Gilmore, Spaceballs, Tenacious D, and Oldboy!

And these tumblr kids pick Scott Pilgrim. eats my own face

Screwing around in 3SOE. I unlocked Gill. This guy is crazy fun. I have to resort to Urien if I gave a shit about playing vs anyone in 3S but still. Figures I would like Gill since I think Urien has the most beast fighting style in 3S(RX!!!). Not to mention that walking animation. Looks like he’s going to beat you down. No one else aside from Gill/Urien possesses such an awesome walk animation in SF.
“Tremble before my might.”

Seth doesn’t count. Bison removed his balls. Speaking of Bison, I still believe him to be a complete homosexual. I mean his team of elite soldiers are all fit young girls with tight asses that obeys all his commands. There outfits have their ass cheeks hanging out. And what does he want to do? Live in Cammy’s body. WHAT. It made sense when it was Ryu but come on. And then there’s the clones in SFIV. So you removed not only their need to eat but their dick and balls too? Talking like dozens if not hundreds of naked, dickless men. All under Bison’s orders. Bison has to be gay. HAS TO. Yeah, he looks badass, has a chin that can knock you out, and painting has never been more fun, but I am suspicious of our Shadoloo leader.

The thing is, I do not disagree with you.

I think they ought to show such homage to the minds behind their greatest works.

I simply do not think they are obligated to.

Artists need to make better contracts.

And the companies that enable them to put their ideas out there, ought to offer them.

But this is America.

Home of stupidity and greed.

just learned that “tom goes to the ma” was banned. fucking well done, gents. internet high fives.

Seriously. Fuck that guy

high five

edit: Shaun of the Dead beats Space Balls 100 out of 100 times

Must be a generational thing. :coffee:

Basically this. If comic artists need better lawyers and contracts. At the same time, if you want a job sometimes you may have to take a shitty contract.

Blazing Saddles is timeless. And it pisses me off when it airs on network TV, 'cause they censor the best humor. I can understand censoring shit, but when it removes from the whole basis of the damn movie, it loses its edge considerably.

Also, History of the World Pt 1 is just as timeless.

Spaceballs > Shaun of the Dead

This is not opinion.

Fun fact: interesting opinion of opinion you have there, rabbit.

Mel Brooks other movies > Shaun of the Dead > dog garbage > Space Balls

(my opinion)

One of these films has Rick Moranis. One of them does not.

This can not be disputed, and is in fact, 100% true.

And yet you posit it as being somehow superior…

A correlates directly to B.

Rick Moranis no longer doing movies made me sad. Though I can understand why.

was there a crack down on image replies? what happened? i always miss the good shit

68-70’s Mel brooks > 80s - and forward Mel Brook.

This is undisputed fact.

Largely correct, there’s an exception to copyright law that’s covered under fair use.

Fair use allows for you to include stuff in like…commentary/satire/criticisms, citations, reporting/journalism, etc. without being sued. Like otherwise Hollywood could sue every movie critic that mentions one of their movies in a professional context (ie. their show that they make money from) or even news stations that make money from their broadcasts noting copyrighted works.

Parody is considered commentary/criticism, but it’s really decided on a case by case basis.

(Fun fact - there is no fair use law in Canada, it’s called “fair dealing” which really is just intended to cover copyright infringement in terms of like citations or mentions - like in commentary/reporting/etc. There is actually no hard legal position that defends parody use in Canada.)

Pretty much if it goes to court, it’s determined based on the potential of the parodied product to make money, essentially. Is this intended to diminish the profits of the original copyrighted material because your product replaces it in the market, or is it unrelated?

The reason why long YouTube videos get pulled is because if you watch them, you won’t buy the DVDs or whatever monetary thing that they’re selling them in. But if it’s just a small clip, then it’s almost like advertising. Pretty subjective, but that’s the reasoning that goes on.

For example, Weird AL’s record sales don’t take away from Coolio’s. People who buy albums with Amish Paradise aren’t then people who won’t spend money on records with Gangsta’s Paradise.

Whereas if you make fake purses that “parody” brand name ones, you’re potentially reducing the profits of the real purse owners, so that’s piracy/copyright infringement.

Thus, if I throw this up here, it’s not copyright because I’m not diminishing the original brand image…I could probably make a strong case in court that this forum post does not represent this company.
