I’ll do you one better. If you haven’t yet, download Steam.

They have categories for games under 5$, and under 10$, along with almost everything else you can think of.
You’re welcome.
Part of me wants to get GW2.
Only part of me.
I’ve played it. Feels like the same MMORPG I’ve already played a thousand times.
A couple of people told me it’s just the class I played (Guardian) but I was not impressed with anything whatsoever.
Nariko and Sir Dan are random as fuck…
That would be the surprising part, given that the particular style of music we’re discussing is mainly known for the technical challenge it presents to the musicians.
All I needed to know. Thanks man.
Back to Dark Souls.
Well, you can kind of say the same thing about all forms of art. I don’t paint, but I appreciate paintings. I don’t sing, but I appreciate that talent. Etc etc.
Holy shit this RE6 fiasco is getting insane. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer company
How do you feel about Joe Satriani’s Surfing with the Alien? For whatever reason I just can’t get into it because it definitely feels like a guitar mastrubating with other instruments there to round out the compositions.
RE6 Fiasco?
Part of me doesn’t want to get GW2.
The rest of me agrees with it.
It leaked this weekend.
In Poland.
A month early.
It’s out. Someone(s) have it already, and apparently you can DL it now if you know where to look.
Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooh.
That’s nuts how game seem to leek early all the time now, from every company. No one is safe it seems.
Oooh, a guitar conversation!
Blah blah blah malmsteem blah blah steve vai blah blah buckethead blah.
You can’t really have a Satriani album without him jerking off his guitar all over everything. Isn’t that what he’s there for, though?
No, not really. In art, there are usually multiple layers at work–formal, stylistic, thematic, (sometimes) narrative, and so on. Different things speak to different people, and those things predominate at different levels depending on the particular piece. I don’t believe it is a crass statement to say that Dream Theater’s musical technique is a far more predominant element of their appeal than that of, say, The Beatles.
Logically, musical technique will mainly be appreciated most of all by those who have a technical understanding of music. Musicians, in other words.
I think Joe has enough melodic sensibility (e.g. “Crushing Day”) and a sense of cool textures (e.g. “Midnight”) that he often gets around the trap of noodling over the backing parts, which is what plagues a lot of guitarists in his genre. Not always, though.
Surfing has some good stuff on it, but I definitely think some of the compositions are stronger than others. There are times when he does seem like a soloist without much to do and a lot of spaces to fill. My main obstacle to getting into it, though, was the production quality. To my ears, the overall tone of the album is mechanistic and freeze-dried. He’s done live recordings of some of these tunes that have a lot more vitality to them.
Walking dead (adventure game from telltale who now make the current monkey island games. Highly recommend)
Bastion. Super recommend.
Counter strike global offensive is $15
Portal is fun and cheap.
I’ll post more later on when I get to my comp.
Sheeeit, I’m eagerly anticipating the commentary on Invisible Walls regarding the Skyrim situation… Marcus Beer’s commentary in particular, as he seems to be more of an Elder Scrolls fan than the others. Basically, Bethesda isn’t sure if the DLC for the game will ever be released for the PS3 version.
A benadryl-induced sleep is SO good. I feel like Apocalypse just getting up from the Lazarus Chamber over here. Yeah, anyone suffering from a bit of insomnia… get on that benadryl meal plan; take one of those. You’ll be in Dreamland in record time.
