This bitch went from having an issue dealing with a few thugs with knives to taking on a dozen niggas with machine guns with like ZERO training except learning how to jump from rooftops which of course in the DC universe is the equivalent of being a black belt in armbreak-fu.
I just rewatched Rumble in the Bronx for the first time in a good long while. So many liberties are taken with basic logic and common sense, all in the service of causing hand-to-hand asskickings to happen. It’s brilliant.
Replace Carrie Kelly with Jackie Chan and this movie would be a million times mo betta. I guess that bitch learned how to be a bad ass from resuscitating her junkie parents or something.
Lol at them letting the MAYOR go into a cell alone with a HUGE MUSCLEBOUND homicidal nigga with SHARK teeth and get surprised when he dies. That’s almost as funny as having TWO short haired redheaded women with glasses that look like males in the SAME movie. Must be some sort of DC symbolism that my mind can’t comprehend.
The Dreamcast and NAOMI were developed alongside each other and share most hardware, just the NAOMI had a greater amount of memory for video and sound.
May god bless yoga pants! Whenever people say best thing since sliced bread, they should be saying best thing since yoga pants. Which there is very few things.
There were some moments of power here, and I admit I became more convinced as the show played out, but I can’t help feeling that this is ultimately a pale reflection of the original book. It isn’t the fault of the people behind the production, who clearly put a lot of effort and artistry into it. Frank Miller was simply in a league of his own in the mid-1980s, and DKR is his strongest, most surgical statement to date on the superhero genre. Something like that can be imitated at best, never duplicated.
(To its credit, the DTV made me want to go back to the book, and I hope it has the same effect on the uninitiated.)
I want to single out Christopher Drake’s score in particular. His work on All Star Superman impressed me. He does a good job here, too, but his score is essentially a straight-up pastiche of Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard’s work on the Dark Knight series of films, plus assorted other Zimmer works. The main theme, in particular, is perilously close to becoming a lift from Zimmer’s score for The Thin Red Line.
Same reason they’re doing The Hobbit in 3 movies…money
I think I am going to go pickup Sleeping Dogs today, enough people have told me they’re enjoying the fuck out of it. I made the mistake of buying Demon Souls on PC, then finding out the controls are a hot wet mess of ass on that game.
Not really Facebook itself, but the way people use it. There is this girl I know that uploads 5-10 pics of her baby every day. Look, I know you’re a proud parent, but think about what you’re doing. Not only are you annoying the ever loving piss out of everybody that has you in their feed, but you are also publicly sharing your child’s life, and everything that happens in it. That is just insane to me. It just seems like too much information to give out. Without even wanting to, I know almost everything about this kid. Where she goes to day care, where her parents work and when, where her room is in the house, what she is allergic too, what she likes, what she doesn’t like, who she likes, when she goes to sleep, when she wakes up…
I know this about a lot of people just from Facebook over the years. People gradually post bits and pieces of their lives and I can’t help but pick that stuff up over time. When people work, when they meet new people, where they live, who all of their friends are, hobbies, income, family… its nuts! I’m guilty of it too, but it just kind of freaks me out when I sit back and think about it.
As it was said in Warrior, “An age without secrets.” I wonder, is getting attention some sort of high for people? Is it that addicting? We even had killers willingly confess their crimes on Facebook. That should freak you out.
I finished reading Superman Red Son/Birthright/All Star this morning. Is it wrong that I am fancying a Superman avatar now?
