I’d imagine because strep throat, like flu, changes so easily IIRC, and it’s generally a lot less deadly and thus a lot less pressing.
Also, (somewhat) for the conspiracy theorists, there’s also obviously money to be made from something that’s extremely common and usually at least annual for someone to come down with. That’s it’s generally non-lethal is just icing on the cake.

MvC3 looking like the older Marvel games where everyone had ridiculous combos, MvC2 was really more the exception- and maybe MSF, never played that game enough to really be able to say. But it’ll be interesting to see what the focuses of the game are, and what weird exploits people find.
