Being booted from a school, cut from a team, or losing your scholarship won’t make you learn anything. It will just make you resentful for the assholes who went after your livelihood because you said something they found offensive.
If you agree with that, you’re in luck because I think that’s where the nation is going. Be wary, though. People like me? It goes against the schools code of conduct, it’s no different than them goign out and getting hammered in public and getting caught by some adult who tattled. Yeah it was a dick move on the websites part, but it’s the kids fault for being stupid.
I don’t think he’s implying that they shouldn’t be reprimanded, but rather that public exploit isn’t the best way to go about it.
Kids have been stupid since the dawn of time. Should that stupidity have a permanent impact on their future when it hurt no one? They’re only words. I found it disgusting, but instead of stripping these kids of their accomplishments and slamming them with Internet justice they should be shown why what they said was reprehensible.

they are all high school kids and i doubt it will be a “permanent impact” at worst they’ll be put on atheltic suspension for a couple games. I see no stripping of accomplishments in the article other than some potential walk on not going to be allowed because he didn’t make the academic qualifications for the school anyways.
i’m not disagreeing that it was a shitty thing to do but i’m fairly certain this won’t destroy their lives.
