Ah you say this but low and behold I am referring to a topic within GD . I made a long post about two different points, I’m quoted by Ki Shima who calls me naive, and then posts a video about LSD brainwashing experiments…In the Wii-U Thread…when talking about Metroid Other M…and Nintendo.
What does LSD brain washing experiments have to do with either of those things, aside from the obvious that Miyamoto has done tons of it.
Someone mentioned this and I never thought of it until now-- why isn’t election day a federal holiday? One would think that could make things a bit easier for folks with jobs to go vote at any point during the day. I would rather have the entire day off and then the choice of voting in the morning or afternoon, without being rushed during the day. It would be an extra bit of convenience there. Sheeeit, I should’ve just taken today and tomorrow off in advance anyway. It’s been quite awhile since the last vacation day. There’s too much time in life spent working and enduring the stress of working… barely enough time for the fun/entertaining things in life. By the time the average person plays their cards right and can afford to retire… they don’t have much time left in the world anyway. This world really is a depressing pile of shit, y’know? It’s almost as much of a downer as the last few scenes of last night’s Walking Dead, or a marathon of repeated Holocaust footage. Oh and that’s the funny thing there… that this modern era is actually better off (at least in the more “civilized” parts of the world), compared to the past several centuries of human stupidity.
In other news, a certain friend who power-leveled all characters to 50 right away, fast-tracked through the story (while half-way paying attention, I’m sure) and got people to give him dupes of all the most powerful weapons and gear in the game… he’s now gotten bored of Borderlands 2. Yeah, I’m SO sure that’s the game’s fault. A randomized “Horde” mode would be nice in that game though… that would definitely add to the replay value, at least for me. I can’t get enough of those Horde modes, even though it’s a gaming trend that has been showing up in everything lately.
Excellent beer choices: Ruination IPA, Levitation Ale, and the 4 different Arrogant Bastard ales, specifically the Oaked AB.
Some of these are exceptionally expensive, mind you. Three Philosophers is about $15 for a 4-pack or $10 for a large bottle, and others are exceptionally hard to find like Three Floyds are typically not available outside of Chicago and Indiana. Rouge is found in many places. What I suggest doing is looking these beers (and others) up on Beeradvocate.com and seeing what people describe the flavor as before making the purchase. It will save you money, whereas I don’t have a smartphone, and would buy a $10 bottle and find it to be disgusting.
If you can find it before it’s sold out, I suggest STRONGLY this year’s Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin Ale. It’s the best of the last 5 years, but will run you about $20 a 4-pack. I bought 3 4-packs direct from the brewery and it was $38. I saw them in Wegman’s in NY for $18 a pack. http://weyerbacher.com/blog/2010/02/imperial-pumpkin-ale/
Their Blithering Idiot and Winter Ales are fantastic as well. They’re located in Easton, PA.
I’m almost done with Final Fantasy 9…
Next, I’m going to do all of the Metal Gear games from MGS on, as I have MGS, MGSHD, and MGS4…
Which one should I start with?
god, that’s all we had until Ps1 MGS, which blew our minds. And EGM filled out the NES real big boss games we were missing.
Just found lil bro’s FF9 in the garage. With a Lunar 1, with all the cloth map and artbook. Working Designs certainly did go all out with extras. & they’re all scattered and at last word they’re trying to put together that kinda thing again, for, PSP class of heroes 2 via kickstarter or one of those.
I played all of them, and beat the shit out of the first one with the Big Boss rating.
I’m mostly wondering if I should play Peace Walker or 1 first.
There are 4 games that I 100% destroyed on PS1… MGS, as I mentioned, FF9, I got all 100 cards, the Excalibur 2, and everything else there is to get in the game, total time was like 22 hours, Castlevania SotN I glitched the fuck out of and had 230% map completion (Out of 200.6% if you don’t know), and Threads of Fate, because that game is amazing.
Right on. I was kinda done with it after SEGA CD version. Enough Quark White Dragon diamond poop, Alex Dragonmastering for me. And dad taking the reigns of the controls, only hanging out in the sewer to play blackjack.
& yet it constantly gets remade, when I thought the story wasn’t that huge a deal. Really should’ve checked out Lunar 2 though. Decades later, some descendants start their new story with the old heros actually having statues enshrined for them sounded promising enough to open the game with. EGM/Expert Gamer again exposed some Animated onsen bath stuff too, makes more sense than that thing selling this other RPGame Granstream Saga, shower scene, via a playstation underground demo disc. Had to be peer pressure with the buddies after we saw that to now have to buy that, turned out to be pretty generic, game.
Lunar was hot though. It bothered me how difficult the game was simply because the bosses would level up with you. I remember I didn’t realize that at first, spent 2 hours leveling up, and then had even more problems with the second boss. Bananas.
I maintain a stance that Lunar is pretty generic and further remakes dilute its appeal. If you want to come up with more about it that is memorable for you, feel free. I probably won’t remember anything major even if you bring it up. There were a lot more cool RPG’s after 1993. Lunar’s low tier for me.
youtube lookin real SRK these days with the ads even on embeds and tons of errors loading
Personally, I think FF6,7,9, Grandia, Skies of Arcadia, Wild Arms 1-3, Suikoden 1-3, Alundra, Super Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger, BoF, Ogre Battle, Tactics Ogre, FFT, and a few others are much more memorable than Lunar [S](And the one that had art by Akira Toriyama that I can’t think of… fuck).[/S] EDIT: Dragon Warrior. (Honestly, I think Dragon Warrior is the best JRPG I’ve ever played. Secret of Mana was pretty godlike too, and Legend of Dragoon. Wasn’t a fan of Legaia though, but many really love that game, and I didn’t give Parasite Eve enough time to really appreciate it.
In terms of EARLY RPGs, Lunar was top notch, but not better than Ultima, Phantasy Star, and that other Genesis one I can’t think of… Another fuck…
