The new kids saying silly shit isn’t that big of deal. When OGs start saying stupid shit, hilarity ensues. That’s the big distinction between stupid and silly: most of the new people are ignorant so you can’t get too mad at it, most of the OGs know better and they still say some dumb shit. SF4 makes people say darnedest things ( like the game is a turtle fest, its all down back, reversal window fucks the game up etc). New kids need to be educated, OGs need to get called out on stupid.

I’m not so if you have any evidence supporting your claim I’m all ears. I do however, make very careful choices on what I buy and think this generation has given us more quality titles in a shorter time span than any other. So on a forum where the majority are so blinded by nostalgia they refuse to acknowledge any game made after their own childhood as anything beyond modern garbage it’s likely that a passionate person who has no problem saying he enjoys so many different games stands out.
That and I really can’t think of a single hack and slash that was as well rounded and well made as Bastion, it really stands above and beyond all other games in the genre. Art, music, story, combat, rpg elements, it all just combines to be literally perfect. On steam and the escapist forums when asked for the game most similar to Bastion, Y’s: Origins was the most common answer and although it looks kind of fun it still doesn’t look that special to me but I’ll give it a chance. here’s a quote I really agree with:
“It’s pretty funny. I’ve seen a lot of people (myself included) say that the gameplay is nothing new, but when asked to name a few that are similar, no one can come up with anything”.
