My recent Fable 2 ranting feels so nice and validated now. Oh yeah and it’s ranking high on that list too.
It actually sours my mood a bit just remembering it… you don’t even have to shoot the bastard…you wait try and wait until he finishes the speech, and that other guy shoots him! He falls into the pit…and that’s just the end of things. He doesn’t come back or transform into something cool… he’s just dead that quickly. Unbelievable, man.
That list also reminds me —Ghost & Goblins or Ghouls & Ghosts… yeah, that was one of the first games I remember being basically a big “fuck you.” to the player…you make it to the apparent end and the game is all like “LOL this isn’t the real ending… you need to start over and do all this again to beat the game for real” Get the hell out of here with that. It was the first time I actually turned off a game purely out of disgust. I refused to continue playing it at that point. Good thing that was only a few dollars wasted on a rental at the time… I took that bullshit back to Blockbuster early. Yeah, eat shit, Ghosts & Goblins.
