Man I do this when i play. Smash the stick into the gates. i unno why tho. I’s pretty rough on the buttons to. I tend to hit them rather hard instead of tapping them.

My friend got his stick today. He messed with it for fifteen minutes said he was getting Maximum Spider more easily than keyboard. He can’t really do anything other than fireball on the 1P side. I put him on the first part of my execution training regimen and five fireballs in a row was his best. He trained for about an hour then took a break to play Guild Wars 2. I’m note sure if he settled on a grip yet I think he’s using mine.

This stuff is interesting to me. I’m wondering how long until he’ll be completely comfortable and able to do what he wants when he wants. It’s always been a point of contention how long it takes someone to become familiar with a stick. Most people forget how long it took them. I know it’s a hassle because I switched to the Japanese variety in 2009.

Since we’re apparently still talking about MvC2, the last time that I touched the game, I think my main team was Ruby Heart/Sentinel/Doom…even though I didn’t enjoy using Sentinel at all; I never really have.

Ruby Heart was really fun to play and rather underestimated, especially in terms of potential lockdown and chip damage. It’s too bad most of her supers sucked–she only need the one QCF+PP super though–and that her normals were easily avoidable, especially given how low to the ground her whip-sweep hit in a game full of lethal tri-dashes.

SCV was amazing, until the back step nerf patch. They nerfed back step to get rid of a glitch (QS4G) similar to the 2G glitch in SC2.

They solved the problem by increasing vulnerability frames of back dash to 20 frames. Think about it. After tapping back just to create a little space between yourself and your opponent, you are vulnerable for a third of a second before you can block. That’s fucking madness. Especially in a game with characters who have swords as long as they are tall and spacing is your best, sometimes only, bet against them.

I…see. That’s unfortunate. I wonder why nerfs usually end up so draconian, even if they’re done individually.

How long ago was this patch implemented? Has Namco said anything about fixing it’s fuck-up? (I’m guessing no.)

As an entirely unrelated aside, did Ivy’s breasts finally stop growing by SC5? As little as I follow that series, given what little I’ve seen of her gradual breast-size increase, I’m expecting her by SC6 to become the new Voldo after her breasts finally break her back if they haven’t.

And then they’ll still keep growing.
