SRK Lounge New Owners beta

Too bad you’re all wrong.

He’s probably referring to Justin Wong and even Wong himself said he didn’t know what it really meant and he guessed and everyone started copying him because OMG JUSTIN WONG. Just like everyone copied his words about Adon.

Next thing you know Sicily will mean an air attack in MvC3. Just like the SF4 Akuma players tried to steal Magneto’s vortex. at the existence of a vortex in that slow-ass game. smh :shake:

What fucked it up most is probably Triforce. He’s always trying to take popular shit, change it, and claim it as his own.

I gave the Bulletstorm demo another shot. Pass. Picked up You Don’t Know Jack tonight. $30 for a game Future-Wife is willing to play with me? Hellooo THQ.

No pun intended.

cock attempts blocking mental image

I love you and all that (no homo) shit, Lothar.

But fuck you for that.

I could have gone my entire life without ever having had that particular thought enter my brain.

But I have a very good imagination.

And you have now made me hate this fact.

EDIT:

My soul feels unclean.

As I see it.

This. Imo.
As much as I like to blab the popular phrases with friends, the internet populi overdose it. Just like with everything else.

Well, yesterday was fun between walking 23 miles and 7 hours waiting ultimately to just not go to the MvC3 event because I’m horrible at directions and remembered the wrong admission/had the wrong impression; I ended randomly seeing I Am Number Four because of it, which a bit better than little I expected of it. Such a backlog because of it.

Far more importantly, I finally got around to seeing Black Swan. Hell, I’m listening to the

 at Merlin knocking Morganna down some stairs by accident.

My, rather interesting and informative. Hmm…this explains a fair bit about you as well.

(And now I’m going picture you as Iori even more than I already do.)

…“auto-saged”?

Yeah, Friendship is Magic has been getting praise from everyone I’ve seen mention it. The first three episodes seemed entertaining enough…

pictures Kurotsuchi Mayuri bursting through the courtroom wall and looking at Lohan while tilting his head to the side

…Awesome.

Like people already said, the Piped Piper power could potentially be extremely dangerous or at least profitable. Maybe not in-battle and maybe not in a world where like 25% of all beings with superpowers can destroy fucking planets, but given that it’s a super power without a drawback, it’s better than nothing.

Just proves you’re trying to take over my life. Stay away from me, single white female.

We all already knew that.

He reproduced? Survival of the fittest my ass. Then again, I guess the Maury show alone would be ample evidence of the flaw in that when applied to humans.

Fuck. I still didn’t haven’t gotten around to watching past #16. Ugh…

…Pussy magnet? I’m not seeing that unless you mean “magnet for people who are pussies”, which is all you could possibly mean.

Never heard of this game.

Psst. Stop pretending you have a soul and you’ll feel better.

Watching The Truman Show. It’s depressing how we’ve become a society where this could actually be a reality show.

Even as cynical as I am, I don’t really see how that could ever work considering how long the whole process (years) would be and it would have virtually no gimmick. It’d flop pretty hard just due to waning interest and monetary reasons even before the inevitable ethic disgust or whatever (from perhaps a dwindling few, not that they were ever very large to begin with).

Now, Ed TV or whatever on the other hand… I could basically see reality TV following just one random jackass by this point given that’s what basically it does do now, just for groups of random jackasses.

As much as I love Nier, I can’t say this has the best OST ever, it’s in my top 5 though. Devola/Popola duet is def. the best track on the soundtrack. Yes, both of them.

Also, your constant posts about Nier only reminds me about how many endings I have left. I got a huge backlog to empty, this isn’t making it easier

So…my external HD was just diagnosed with the “Click of Death”](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReAe0JMXdmI[/media)

pause

Awesome! Your External HD Cherish this moment.

Oh! This reminds me. Who here was talking about having to past kidney stones a while ago?

unzips pants

…How’d that go?

So I finally played MVC3, and I must say, the game is janky as hell. X-Factor is beyond retarded and the standard damage level seems absurdly high. Chip damage is ridiculously high and push block mashing is a MUST.

**Things I Noticed:
**
-You can get crossed up by certain normals, esp. Spider-Man’s. Sentinel has a weird character model that allows him to easily get crossed up.

-Normals have weird priority, it seems to be based on who mashes out their move first rather than actual superior hit collision, as I used normals that had seemingly disjointed hitboxes get stuffed by regular normals on occasion. This might be just poor observation though.

-X-Factor + Sentinel is the most retarded thing I’ve seen so far. Half the time I can’t even finish a standard AC without a KO simply because Sent does SOOOOOOOO much damage in general, w/ X-Factor it feels unfair.

-Sentinel has no Super Armor, but it doesn’t matter.

-IIRC, you can still call assists during flight mode.

-Chun’s Lightning Leg assist is really good and seems to surpass any other assist I was experimenting with. As along as you call assists out before getting hit, they will do their full attack whilst you being combo’d. Kinda lame, but it also helped me out as well.

-But assists can’t be spammed, as they can be severely punished in a game with this level of high damage. In fact, Duo/Triple Attack supers are a pretty good way of punishing both the onscreen character and the assist, and can often be comboed into if the point character can combo their super normally. I can easily foresee these team hypers being a metagame standard in the future, just through convenience alone.

-Mag’s EM Disruptor REALLY DISRUPTS. You can’t sleep on the LP version, it will interrupt any advance or random super. Probably the best special move that I’ve seen so far.

-Sentinel’s explosive Launcher has a HUGE disjointed hitbox. It can hit some characters 2.5 lengths away!

-The air combo system seems to be fairly character and matchup specific, and mostly consists of mashing Medium button on larger characters. snore :bluu:

-Phoenix is lol. She might have potential, but the amount of damage she takes makes Strider look like Hyper Armor Colossus.

-The most annoying thing, esp. playing on a big screen tv is that most of the backgrounds have the same color tonality as the characters, making some costumes/colors extremely hard to see. Spiderman’s black costumes are key ones.

Overall the game looks fun, but for all the wrong reasons. My other minor complaints mostly have to do with my lack of knowledge with the game mechanics and the weird feel of the game. I don’t feel like taking it seriously, but I do want to wreck scrubs so…

I’ve seen how absurd the damage is, so your post is pretty spot-on. Just wathcing B’n’B’s off of streams do like 30-40% w/out meter.

Also, I’m waiting for your verdict on X-23’s ankle slicer assist. Does it knockdown? Does it pop-up enough to combo into?

Hmm…that sounds unfortunate and not in the schadenfreude type of way (outside of maybe seeing the whiners get crushed, especially the people who were/are still expecting MvC2 II).

Oh well. It’s not like I was in a rush to get the game, especially with what little money I have and as much of a backlog as I have. We’ll see how it goes/how stupid it becomes in the next couple of months leading up to EVO.

Based on what I’ve seen it doesn’t knockdown, but it does hit low. It might cause pop-up if the opponent is in the air, but right now her AA assist seems better because in this game it’s very easy to stuff assists out that aren’t Chun’s. (Her assist is REALLY GOOD).

X-23 has a lot of potential but this game has a powerful push block that sends you all the way back with ease. Rushdown without a direct air dash is quite cumbersome.

-Storm’s Typhoons are annoying and cover a wide area if done midscreen (vertically mid-jump). Unless you have a good beam move, it will stop your advance cold.

-Wesker oozes with potential but he’s hard to use without spending some time in training mode. His Maximum Wesker super is fairly quick and seems to be one of the few supers that won’t lose to random button presses. (You cannot spam supers because a simple jab can interrupt, unless it’s a LV.3. LV.3s all have some measure of invincibility.)

-Haggar proved my theory, he has no real problem getting in and takes damage fairly well to afford the effort of rushing down. His aerial body splash attack has impressive priority.

Minor Observation A lot of attacks seem to have startup- then instant reaction. For example: Ironman’s Repulsor Blasts will charge for a second the have an instant release. Older games generally started their moves as soon as executed.

Lastly, I did have some execution problems, but to be fair I think it mostly had to do with using a Xbox controller and not the game itself. I need to do further testing next time.

It feels thrown together to you?

Fun because of the BS? I thought that was the fun of Marvel.

You missed my point.

As I see it.

Am I the only one that noticed the part in bold above?

WALKING
23 MILES
WALKING
23 MILES

Are you serious?

As I see it.

The presentation of the game is solid with character intros and very good music themes. Unfortunately, the game engine feels like anything can happen, like if you mashed hard enough you could escape a combo or pull off combo just on button whimsy. Stuff you couldn’t get away with in MVC2/1.

MVC2 doesn’t have the type of BS I’m talking about. Half the stuff you see in MVC2 had to be discovered and not just self-evident like in this game.

In MVC3 I can do a 80% combo with one meter on my second time touching the game simply because I can just do L,M,H, Launch, L,L,M,M, Exchange, OTG L,M, Launch, M, M, Exchange, OTG Super, without any thought behind my actions- with a myriad of characters. It’s like being a kid in a candy store of brokeness. It just boils down finding out what characters can do these combos the easiest for the most damage.

Caught the tail end of Spooky’s stream tonight for MvC3. With KFC and the odd absence of damage scaling, it seems like a lot of these matches will end rather quickly. Even quicker than an MvC2 match. Time to start busting out the 4 out of 7 Grand Finals matches again at tournaments.

and i would walk 23 miles
and i would walk 23 more
just to be the man who walked
23 miles to play mvc3

In other news: I am convinced that MvC3 makes people stupid. We haven’t even gotten to the deluge of new SRKers we’re going to get and it feels like the average IQ of the site went down a few points.

I mean, SRK stands for Stupid Retarded Kids, but Christ.
