Nah…I was never convicted of anything. The first time I went to jail I spent 3 days and 2 nights there. I’m pretty sure the only reason I had to stay is because I was arrested on a Friday night so I had to wait till Monday to go to court. I went to court at around 10 am on Monday and the judge or whoever never called my name. I was released that night at around 9pm. No charges were ever filed.
The second time I just spent the night in the drunk tank. I was given a choice - do you want to go to jail or do you want to go to the hospital? I was mad drunk and stupid me picked jail. They did give me a bus pass so I was able to get home. If I would have went to the hospital I would have had to foot it home.
P.S. I was picked up about 4 months ago and given the same choice, jail or hospital. I went to the hospital. Took a cab home.
Good for you Drizzt, one of the things I hate when getting drunk is the way you can just go outta control so easily, like there is no line between having cutting loose a bit with a few pints and waking up in a police station covered in blood and being informed CID will be with you in a minute. Shit is crazy.
Well, there’s the problem. YouTube has now made it to where they can just turn it (the ad revenue part) off. If you’re going through their site, they can do what the fuck they want since they’re a private company. I’m sure people who have sponsors can at the very least get paid by that sponsor, but where are they going to show the video? For now at least, that’s YouTube.
YouTube stabbed a lot of those people in their backs with this latest stunt. I’m sure they could’ve made a name for themselves with cat videos, but content producers made them FAR bigger than they would’ve been. That’s like benching your star players before the world series/superbowl/etc because somebody you know “Just doesn’t like them” despite the fact that they carried the team all the way to the big game. It isn’t exactly a new situation. YouTube has gotten so big that they think they can’t fall. Now they just want to treat people badly for whatever reason. Bad Idea Youtube. Very bad.
That might very well happen. Remember when Twitter decided to throw in with the SJW crowd and start censoring anyone who didn’t agree with their garbage? I bet the top execs do. Their stock prices back in 2014 were upper 50s to mid 60s. Now it can’t even reach the $20 range. Worse, people are still leaving that sinking ship with the quickness to the point that they have turned desperate to get people on their team. Now YouTube may or may not be doing the same kind of shit. Either way, they are kicking the very people who make them the most money. that kind of action usually causes a very equal and unpleasant reaction. YouTube providing advertisments isn’t a guarantee. YouTube content makers staying there isn’t a guarantee either. They might just decide to yank all their videos off the site one day and go to another area instead. Like this one.
You have to remember that crucades is Scottish. Telling him not to drink too much is like telling an Arab not to kill someone in the name of Allah or Islam. Sure, it is theoretically possible for him to resist doing that particular behavior, but more likely than not he is going to lapse back into bad behavior like most people do. Yeah…I can’t drink less. I can’t drink at all. I’m a fuckin’ alcoholic. I started drinking at the age of 13. I quit drinking after the first time I got arrested. Around ten years without a drink. Shit happens and I got really miserable and turned to the bottle to cope with my issues. Bad choice.
I cant just have one or two or a few. Once I start I won’t stop until I pass out. So no drinky drinky for Drizzt anymore.
I smoke pot, though not very much. A friend picked me up 1/8 of pot at the beginning of August (from a dispensary) and I still have most of it. I like to smoke with one of my long time friends and on occasion I’ll smoke when I’m alone and don’t have shit to do.
(As much as you and I will never get along, I applaud you for being able to admit that.)
At least two distant acquaintances I know also had a similar problem to the point that they cannot touch a drink at all either. As much as I gripe about everything and already have somewhat sub-par health, I am genuinely glad that substance abuse will never be a problem for me among my myriad of issues. I just never got the whole cultural obsession with drinking, especially to excess, despite a whole bunch of people in both high school and college being all about it. Shrug.
