I traded in MVC3 before people on SRK were complaining about Sentinel, XFC lvl3, and Akuma tatsu assist. That’s how bad it was to me. As for SFIV, I hate how some matches are forced to a snail’s pace(Blanka vs Akuma/T Hawk vs Sagat or Seth/Ken or Bison vs Guile).
Every match feels like that to me in SFIV. I don’t even know what happened to that game. I think I left it in my Xbox as an…well, my tray wont open if there isn’t a game in it…so I left it in there so it would open next time I wanted to put a game in it. Its not there anymore though…Bayo is in there now. Its a mystery.
edit - maybe I gave it to the dude I sold my stick to…I don’t think he would have taken it though. Dude didn’t speak any English, only Spanish. Im pretty sure he was gonna use that shit for KOF.
I think the hate on SF4 is overdone, myself. I could understand it with AE, but from my experience of 2012, the game’s perfectly fine. Not the pinnacle of SF (can’t top ST), but it’s hardly bad.
Both 2D and 3D fighters have a complete disregard for the laws of physics. Uppercutting someone does not send them flying several feet into the air, and you can’t just keep them there with jabs. Newton tech rolling in his grave, yo.

Man, I am pretty hard up for some CvS2 though. Im tempted to get a tv, ps2, the game and an extra controller and go sit somewhere with a lot of pedestrian traffic. Challenge anyone who walks by. Meh, I would probably just get beat up and robbed of my shit. fuck it.

I think people have been using the wrong word with SFIV and other Capcom games. It’s not hatred, it’s really disappointment. I don’t hate SFIV any version or MVC3 or DMC4 or RE5. They ALL were letdowns to me. DMC4 being the best imo but still. I was HYPED when I saw SFIV was coming out but then I played it. I played Super. I player AE. I played AE 2012. It never clicked. I felt I always wanted more.
CvS2… that’s something I got into 'til roll cancelling was discovered. Couldn’t keep up with that shit for some reason. Same thing happened to me with MvC2 once they figured out guard cancelling and all-but destroying Spiral in the process.
(doesnt read more then the last 3 post) yeah, i only own sf4 vanilla. i thought that shit was atrocious, and nothing past it got my money, but capcom made it back with mvc3 and umvc3. smh. theyre lucky im a minority with a weakness for vs games, but im done with the series post umvc3. theyve clearly proven themselves to be useless, but at least i got dante.
i will never forget the irc hate i got for saying sf4 vanilla was trash, and not what i expected after almost ten years off by capcom, and a grip of sf and cross fighters for them to use as references to make a great game. by the time ssf4 dropped, that opinion started to change, once ae dropped, no one liked that shit really, and 2012 level’d out the hate from the previous versions, but has ZERO hype. watching the same people who said fuck you scrub who are you, say sf4 is trash like a year and a half later is funny to me. its like watching history happen right before your eyes when youre aware of how wrong they were to begin with.
but mad people were on some fake or semi fake shit during the sf4 vanilla era. the forums changed, and it was be nice or get reprimanded. a lot of us got behind the new train and tried to be a bit more welcoming. i guess in hindsight it was beneficial, but it created a whole lot of fuckery, lies, and fake shit imo. most of that is gone now though, so whatever. honest opinions of umvc3 kind of finally started to solidify for me personally that the community isnt on some fake fuck shit still.
all i know, is no matter what, i stuck to my guns on saying shit sucking. even though i bought mvc3 and umvc3, i still had nothing but truth to say about the shit that sucks about those games. to deny the facts is ludicrous to me. shoutout to the nigga yipes for keeping it trill finally about his opinions on umvc3 lately.
Once I actually got good at RE5 I started loving it

i hated the fuck out of re4 for YEARS, before i enjoyed it. i literally didnt get past the first town. i hated the camera, the setting, everything. i dont know what it took, but i didnt playthrough the game and start enjoying it until 2008 (sat on the ps2 release that long), regardless of the reviews i saw. so i feel ya, but i always thought re5 was solid while everyone else hated it, and i played that like a year late too.
I used to play that. But then I lost the disc. Or someone stole the disc. Either way I stopped playing it after that. Cause I could never find the disc.

I tried but it’s a bitch trying to learn Jean when there’s so little info on him aside from some combos. And then there’s Brad, Jacky, and Akira that I like as well. Honestly the beginning of everything blows. Worst part of any game for me is when I first get into it.
I just hated the control shift mostly, though the whole idea of the bug zombie shit as opposed to the virus didn’t help matters.
Yes, I loved old RE controls and the static cameras. I never fought with it like people always say they did, and thought that removing that style killed the atmosphere.
