It’s like listening to M Night Shalmalan about how to make great movies.
He had one good show that had like 4 actual good episodes. Catching lightning in a bottle and then all your proceeding bottles are lightningless speaks volumes about your creational ability.
In other words, I ain’t listening to no one hit wonder who then speaks out against everything else popular (and in many terms good) because it’s different from what he makes.
M. Night Shyamalan isn’t a great example. Or maybe he is.
Shyamalan’s thing is, no matter how wrong-footed his original ideas are, he’s brimming with expertise on how to tell a story, even if the story itself is retarded. As far as technique goes, his movies are very adroitly made. That’s not where his problems lie.
I would imagine it’s a similar situation with John K, though I’m not overly familiar with his non-R&S work.
His animation is great. He is to animation as M Night is to technically making the movie.
John K made the 1st season of R & S which was good.
Ripping Friends, which was pretty dumb and R & S 2 which was horrible. He’s worked on other shows, but basically like how the guy from family guy worked on Johnny Bravo and what not.
He is basically an animation racist, and classic tex avery is his white power of choice.
