I’ve been saying that for months. It’s possible it caught on. It IS an honest game, though. No bullshit comeback mechanics or gimmicks. Just pure fighting. It’s about the only thing to come close to ST for purity of gameplay, in my opinion.

The opposite of honest is dishonest–something that is other than what it presents itself to be. Think of Survivor, which is ostensibly a “reality” show, but everybody knows that every episode is the product of extremely purposeful, selective editing, and that the producers occasionally exert their unseen influence.
Perhaps “honesty” is meant to describe that the outcome is less likely to be determined by artificial means, such as the vagaries of built-in rules and the whims of the people who design the game.
That, or people are just being mean to Capcom for no reason.

That’s the main reason. Cause Capcom is being smart from a business standpoint and adding in things in it’s newer games for newer players to get into Fightan Games(Ultra Combos, The Simplified Controls in MVC3, X-Factor, Assist Gems in SFXT) compared to games of the past with a steep learning curve and KOFXI and the hardxcore crowd doesn’t like those things.
