So I was checking out old EGMs (searching for more inspiration for my obsessive character creation in Saint’s Row 3 and other games with adequate customization, of course), and saw this short article in the March 1994 issue, page 78…
Now I’m curious about who actually bought that? Wouldn’t they have some strong feelings of regret at this point? I can’t help but think it would still be a hilarious waste of money even if you are worth millions or billions of dollars. That was 75 grand that could’ve bought soooo many other things in life. Really, that could’ve been a new car…so instead of a nice new car, you buy the Gold Game Gear…YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS!™, C’mon Son™…and Get Outta Here with That™. Someone should interview the fool who bought that, if there ever was someone who did in fact buy the gold Game Gear. That could possibly be 20/20 prime-time Barbara Walters interview material.
