You are black, so make sure you fill out your FAFSA, and apply for all the student aid you can. I don’t know what its like now, and apparently it is way worse (I went back in 2003 - 2006) but I got a free ride plus side cash just from being poor.
What state are you in? Try to find information on community colleges around you, since they are cheaper and usually you’d have the same teachers that you’d get at a university but in smaller class sizes (which is better). They might also let you transfer to Universities guaranteed after you get your 2-year degree.
Also, MAKE SURE THAT YOU AREN’T GETTING A BULLSHIT DEGREE, as in something that you can get a job with afterwards.
