It started with my nephew’s birthday, which fell on Thanksgiving this year. I’d spent all day baking some six-dozen cookies that I made from scratch, when my sister told me to bake cupcakes for my nephew. I thought “fuck that, if she seriously things I’m going to to the store the night before Thanksgiving to get stuff to bake twelve fucking cupcakes just to give him one of them, then she’s out of her mind.”
However, my nephew is important to me, so I got clever and googled recipes for a single cupcake. Turned out I had all that stuff in my cabinet, so I made it. Well, it tasted so goddamn good that I ate the thing minutes after it was out of the oven, meaning I had to bake another.
The problem is, my family got to taste the cupcake (really, a 2yr old couldn’t finish that thing by himself), so now whenever someone my grandmother knows has a birthday, she requests that I make them a cupcake. This time it’s for my neighbor across the street who I’m quite fond of, an elderly man who used to be a chef.
tl;dr: I bake one cupcake, because fuck you. That’s why.
