I finally got around to playing RE6, ran thru Leon’s campaign, shit is baller. Only part I hated was that damn rope climbing part near the end, fuck Capcom for that shit. I spent 30 minutes climbing up only to fall off and start over. Bout to run thru Chris’ campaign next.
The reviews made RE6 seem like it was an unplayable mass of shit, which is FAR from the case.
It’s like they tried to make his air dash more …Iron Man-like, only they ended up making it super slow with a ridiculously long startup. So now his air dash is a box jump like Nova’s, except Iron Man can’t do shit off an air errant air hit like Nova.
Now he does. In the first game he was at least mid-tier imo; his beam assist was always good. In vanilla I would play Wesker, Iron Man, Doom. His triangle jump medium was a solid pressure tool. He could /+B /+B /+B /+B pretty fuckin’ fast and low to the ground in vanilla. He could also rush away with that shit <-- /+B. In Ultimate, I don’t know how he can approach the opponent. He sure as hell can’t dash up to them on the ground. He can’t triangle jump anymore. His approach is always telegraphed like a motherfucker like, “Oh look, Iron Man is attacking, better block.” Alright so you box jump at them and wham on jumping S. Jump S is a good move with a lot of priority, beats or trades with a lot of shit, but good luck doing a goddamned thing if you actually manage to land it. Half the time I’ll hit someone with a jump d+H or a jump S and then be completely out of range to follow up.
Compare that with Nova. Nova can press d+B and slide in the opponent’s face with a command normal—and it’s barely punishable. Nova box jumps at them and clips them with a jump C while they’re in the air? Yeah, dead.

Zero, Vergil, Morrigan and even Doom out-prioritize the majority of the cast. It’s also hilarious that their normals are so damn good, and so active, then you can’t air-throw them if they toss one out mid-air.

You can Air throw Vergil. Morrigan and Doom have shitty ground normals though; they have decent air normals but nothing on Sentinel. Zero is just a flying blanka ball which is about a million levels worth of stupid.
I’d pay good money to see DMX do a Christmas concert.
Which is funny, because that’s how I’d describe UMvC3 in general.
I’m too scared to get hit with Helm Breaker to air-throw Vergil most of the time. Morrigan and Doom’s ground normals might lack range, but they have amazing priority and are also pretty damn active. Most, if not all, are +frames, too.
What? Vergil is the shit in UMVC3? He’s the ONLY reason I would touch MVC3 now. I’d run Doom/Zero/Vergil because fuck MVC3.
