And you’re right, there are issues to be made with nolan’s approach. But you gotta understand that we went from the batman series being from the lowest it could ever be (batman and robin), to a peak where it finally could be regarded as cinema. So with that in mind, I think we can accept the fact that even though not be up to par as a true batman movie, at least we’re still getting a respectable batman movie out of it.
Also, you can’t say Nickguy doesn’t know comics or batman.

And I think anybody for that love of comic books should at least have an opinon about something.

I read some of his interviews that were posted in the CBF thread by you and Zeph. I didn’t know how badly he actually got screwed by DC after Watchmen, so obviously his vitriol directed at them is well deserved…

I honestly haven’t kept up with the latest Batman development plans despite rather liking The Dark Knight, even though I agree they wasted Two-Face, which is saying something because I don’t even like Aaron Eckhart; I blame The Core for this.
Then again, I was pretty much rooting for Joker than entire movie, so…

Why haven’t we gotten a movie about an Asian woman who isn’t defined by her sexuality or being a piece of cheesecake and who wears pretty sensible clothing? Why haven’t we gotten a movie about a female villain who is pretty badass, emotionally stoic and doesn’t get redeemed by her love for the hero('s cock)? Why haven’t we gotten a movie about a character that probably no one outside of comic books has even heard of when we can’t even get a competent Wonder Woman movie (or another TV series) despite Diana being the most well-known female comic book character?

I don’t care about D3 since I can’t play. I my hype meter for the game died the moment they said you had to be online constantly to play it.Although things have gotten worse now since my alchemist in Torchlight has disappeared. No more Hohenheim shooting lasers.
Edit: On that Ed Boon interview there is a clip of Batman some on The Flash that ends with him hanging Flash from the ceiling and then dropkicking him.
Dropkicks are hype. This game is still on SFxT status since it still looks like ass but I will hope the community gets a good game.

Do you mean Cassandra Cain, which is one of my favourite Bat-family characters ever before they reconned it all to hell? Lady Shiva is a one dimensional villain that just beats people up real good.
I’d love a Cassandra Cain movie, provided they just stick with the first part of her history and ignore all that One Year Later nonsense. But a movie about the second Batgirl outside of a Batman movie is ridiculous, we may as well be hoping for a Beta Ray Bill movie.

The Office suite in general is an overpriced piece of shit.
The Watchmen book and subsequent film adaptation by Zak Snyder still ranks near the top of acceptable adaptations like the LOTR series. Batman is a really different beast to tackle when it comes to turning it into a film. way too many layers and brilliant plot threads to squeeze into a movie.

Things being difficult to do is not an excuse to be unable to do them well (in most instances). Most adaptations of things into movies tend to suck, though the difficulty of adapting stuff into such limited time constraints isn’t why most of them have problems, at least primarily.

Ironically, I’d say that comic books probably have easier than video games and other print media simply because those characters tend to be more (visually) well-known. It’s just that it seems like almost every superhero movie insists on wasting time on an origin story when they don’t need to half of the time…
I think he meant “detective work” independent of Lady Shiva. It would be even sadder if he was suggesting Cassandra Cain as a villain, though.
Otherwise, agree on all fronts, except that I think it would probably a lot more likely to see a Beta Ray Bill movie at this point given how well Thor and Avengers reportedly performed–I still haven’t seen them–than to have Cassandra Cain show up anywhere in any DC movie (as a well-fleshed out heroine).
Is Cassandra Cain even around now with DC’s stupid reboot?
