Man, all this talk about the gamer cafe concept reminds me of my childhood and Ray’s Video, in Chico, CA. It was a video rental store that doubled as a sort of family fun center. So bizarre. Had a whole kid’s jungle gym area (like you’d see at those McD’s), a place where they dealt in CCGs/sports cards, a used game/system section, and then the piece de resistance, the entire middle section of this place had a good 20-30 TVs, hooked up w/ NES/Gen/SNES, and had their entire rental library at their disposal. Paid like, $3/hr. and got to go hog wild. I spent many a summer there. It’s a damn shame that place no longer exists…
