Nobody in the big two houses gives a crap whether the art’s any good. They care about what sells, and Liefeld’s style (whether we like it or not) was eaten up left and right back in the day.
Who’s “they”? Because I guarantee that the majority of the “theys” who have some sense of discrimination with the product have no say, and the majority of the “theys” who have a say are the ones who have no idea what the fuck a good comic is and only understand sales figures and reliable names.

I know pretty much nothing about what you guys are talking about right now, but I read an article a few weeks back on why the 52 Static Shock comic was canceled. I think it had something to do with the dude you guys are talking about.

Liefeld isn’t the only one. Morrison and Perez are both gone. There might be other big-name freelancers jumping ship that I’m not remembering. Regardless of whether or not Liefeld’s product is any good, it doesn’t sound like DC is doing much to nurture their creative people.
