Viewtiful Joe, man…just the mention of it brings back great memories. It is one of the best games of all time. If it were re-released in HD, yeah… I’d buy it again immediately. So many good times were had with that game… I even did the notorious “All Rainbow V-rank” challenge with Blue… I started an All-RV-rank file with Joe but never finished that. If that were a game of the current era, I would most likely have every last achievement/trophy in that sumbitch. It’s a shame that the franchise went straight down the toilet immediately following part 2… part 2 was already a step down in a few ways (unintended slow-down all over the place, LESS playable characters, NO unlockable stuff if I recall, etc.), then there was the terrible, unbelievably bad Saturday-morning cartoon, followed by the disappointing “Red Hot Rumble” game…and that was it; final nail in the coffin right there.

Just finished Rise of the Triad. Asshole last boss until you learn how to fight him. Episode 3 boss was annoying, too.
Tom Hall was the director AND level designer for the original Rise of the Triad. No wonder it’s so damn good(Tom Hall was on the original team at iD software that put out DOOM1/2, he was the main level designer next to Romero, who also helped with Rise of the Triad.)
Both of these guys helped make Duke Nukem 3D as well, which is no wonder why that game is so damn good too. I think they might have had something to do with Shadow Warrior too, but I’m not a 100% on that one. Pretty sure they did, though. I think they were still at Apogee at that time. Kind of want the Shadow Warrior Redux on Steam but I have the GOG release already, but the new Steam version and its real mouselook+other changes make it look more hype.
