Not sure who this Ryan Dunn guy is. I can’t say that I really care given that I’m only “familiar” (read: barely know) a couple of people from Jackass to begin with, which I think I’ve only ever watched once or twice at the most. In fact, the only reason I’m commenting on this is because I’m rather surprised that he didn’t die in one of their many dangerous stunts.
It seems like that happens to a lot of stunt people: something mundane ends up killing them. (Not that cars aren’t actually dangerous as fuck because of how abysmally everyone drives.)
The fact that you seem to honestly still that think was actually legitimate advice after a couple of people pointed out the glaring problems with it is exactly what I was getting at and why I actually never take you “seriously”.
“Giant douche” is kinda an understatement. They honestly basically made him into a fascist. You know they know they fucked up when they’re only viable solution to salvaging the character is either to have him replaced by Skrull (which they didn’t do) or to give him systematic brain damage as redemption.
Civil War was a huge flop anyway because pretty much everyone had the Idiot Ball attached to them except for the X-Men and the Storms, especially Mr. Fantastic given he had spoken out against the Mutant Registration Act before. Hell, it would still be pretty illogical even after you account for the fact that Skrulls wanted it to happen since of the “Big Three” behind that debacle, only Hank Pym was replaced.
The ending pretty much made me go “Huh?” even though the story itself was kinda silly to begin with.
Iron Man is still one of my favorite Marvel heroes. Explains why I still use him in MVC3 despite people saying he’s generally low-mid and “HERP DERP jus use Magneto lulz”

Sadly, even as nonsensical as the ending was, it was probably one of the better parts of Civil War, if only because it ended it. (That and it led to the “death” of Captain America, which I’m told that Brubaker handled well.)

Not having cable or internet for an entire weekend because a tree branch fell on the power lines is some serious bullshit.
My parents made the dumbass decision to plant a tree in front of their house. The roots have already ruined the fucking sidewalk. Kids come to chill beneath the tree and hang on the branches. People park their car under the tree for shade. My parents literally got their driveway extended so they could be ensured a place to park and no one crashing into their cars. The tree is also right on top of a power line so it’s just a matter of time till it fucks that up. Also, raking.

The system we have in place for how a certain category of claims are filed at the moment is so easily exploited it’s pathetic. It has to be one of the dumbest ideas ever implemented in any kind of benefits system. Of course I don’t want to go into specific detail of why and how it’s a flimsy piece of easily exploited shit…but I’ll say it probably has caused a significant boost to how many overpayment situations are out there… some that will probably never even be caught. If you’re going to make the shit this easy, why even bother having a decision process on it in the first place? It’s almost to the point now where the state is saying “Ok, we’ll just take your word for it. Make up a fake employer, provide any random address, and go ahead and lie about your separation issue… and we’ll just hand over a check for several thousands of dollars right away, simply because you say so.”
On another note---- it’s actually a relief that TV sucks at the moment with most things being in repeats… sometimes, I enjoy having a break from being shackled to any tv show. Besides, the internet is 10x better as an entertainment/information medium.
