As the light went green, there was a fervor as everyone rushed towards the center of the arena.
XthAtGAm3RGuYX veered off, sensing a huge fight over the choicest items, and made for one of the smaller piles outside of the moat. He grabbed a Baton securely, and looked around to make sure nobody was coming to lay into him.
**Bious **waded into the thick of things, pushing **Sumazndude **over. **Sumazndude **lost his balance, landing in a pile of mud, before getting back up ot rush for the item he was going for. But he was too late. **GodotsRevenge **stood triumphant, holding a Tower Shield. **Sumazndude **looked around paranoid, left defenseless and offensive less momentarily. Bious, meanwhile, grabbed a spiked shield and strapped it onto his hand, breathing a sigh of relief. Now to find and take out Vynce, he thought.
Meanwhile, Orochizoolander, Angelpalm, and **Synonym **were all quarreling over the Reflex Amplifier. **Orochizoolander **got his hands on it first, then quickly caught a fist to the jaw as **Angelpalm **laid him out, taking the amplifier as it fell from his hands. Quickly afterwards, **Synonym **wrapped up **Angelpalm **in a bear hug from behind, lifting the man completely off his feet and tossing him into a pile of rocks. The amplifier fell from his hands, and as he went for it **Synonym **kicked **Angelpalm **across his face. Angered, Angelpalm rose to his feet and tackled **Synonym **to the ground, pounding on his face relentlessly. Both were so distracted, they didn’t notice when **Orochizoolander **picked up the amplifier, and snuck off with it.
**Skizzz **nimbly avoided any confrontation by darting amongst the piles, and grabbed himself both an Axe as well as a vial of Medicine. Before anybody saw him, he was off and looking for a hiding place.
**Augustus **ran by a pile, snatching up a long sword, and not pausing momentarily but running to get as far away from the mayhem as possible, before he caught a knife in his back. Coincidentally, **Pietastic **had snagged himself a dagger, and was looking for a back to plunge it into, before finding none readily available and looking for a place to hide.
**Vynce **strut confidently, glaring at any who dared make eye contact with him. **JasonC **made eye contact momentarily, before skittering away in fear. He stopped, looked around menacingly, then crouched down and picked up an M16. Nobody dared contest him. He looked at the gun, nodding approvingly, then turned to find his target.
JasonC had quickly grabbed a bow, lined himself up behind Vynce, and drew the string back to fire. Vynce, seemingly sensing this, turned around to face **JasonC **and pointed the gun right back at him. The two were locked in this standoff for what seemed like minutes, though in reality but a moment had passed, before something interrupted them. A thick fog rolled into the arena, filling it so thick that you could hardly see a few feet in front of you. Cursing under his breath, **Vynce **quickly ran for cover. **JasonC **followed suit.
As the thick fog prevented anybody from attacking at a distance, everybody began to calculate their next moves mentally.
