Bassist’s head is eeeeenormous.
lol thats the truth
What’s a good beginner song for a band to learn? Well, not really a band, just a couple of dudes starting to learn instruments lol.
Pick any Nirvana song.
“Brain Stew” by Green day is a simple (but still fun) song to play.
If you have a shitty pickup, then you’re right. But otherwise, a nylon string guitar works with a transducer the way a steel string one does. It converts the vibrations of the soundboard into electrical signal.
Usually, if you try to plug any acoustic into a regular amp, it’ll sound like shit. But if you plug it into an acoustic amp or put an EQ pedal in front of it to soften it a bit it works fine. I have a pickup that you replace the bridge saddle of a nylon string with and it works like a charm.
That would be a piezo.
As a point of clarification, the vast, vast, vast majority of electric guitars do not have a piezo pickup, so putting nylons on your electric is a waste of strings.
So I’m gonna buy this Epiphone Dot for 150.

Its a sweet guitar, but it has a nice chip on its edge in the binding.

As far as hollow-bodys go I’m not very well versed.
I was just wondering if It will cause any problems in the future if left like it is?
You should be able to get the price lower than $150 on that axe. He’s not going to extract much value out of it anywhere else, especially with a ding that big. I suspect it’s purely cosmetic.
As long as the top looks structurally sound you won’t hear any difference in the tone.
Hollow-bodies require more case time. I wouldn’t leave it lying around if you live in a seasonal climate. If you’re in Cali or something no worries.
So last night I attempted hand suicide, AKA learning the carnival theme from MvC2 on bass. Ow. Got a long way to go with the speed. I can JUST keep up, but not well enough to remember what the hell I’m supposed to be doing at the same time.
I live in South Florida, the guitars in Indianapolis (I’m visiting).
As far as I can tell its all good except for the ding.
Thanks for the advice looks like I got some haggling to do
Hey guys a friend of mine is thinking of buying this guitar and asked me if it was any good and I honestly have no experience with Samick guitars.
Anybody have any opinions?

My first electric guitar was a Samick… nothing but problems. Doesn’t feel that great and doesn’t sound that great either. I recommend against it.
Is that an Ibanez S with a D-Activator bridge in your av?
No. Ibanez RG 570 with Dimarzio X2N in the bridge and Dimarzio Breed in the neck.
Bad-ass, I used to have an RG550 from back in the day with the old school heel joint.
I loved that guitar so much that I just pre-ordered a PGM 401 for the same neck joint.
The PGM 401 has the old style neck joint? Interesting…
The PGM 401 is kind of weird to me because of a) how it looks b) weird pickup covers on it and most importantly c) medium frets. This is really weird for a PGM guitar but I guess its what Paul wanted lol. Hes going for that old school vibe.
I’m digging the new RG3550MZ and RG3570Z guitars, but I’d probably never be able to afford them. Plus I like buying older decent Ibanez guitars and fixing them up and setting them up myself.
I have this same guitar (it’s a dot, could be slightly different) and it’s fucking AWESOME. I love it for how cheap I got it and i’ve been playing it live for a while too. It may just be my individual one though, who knows! I put some flatwound strings on it and that feels good and fits the guitar, if you’re into that sound. My dream is to get the ES335 model that the dot is copying but for being almost 10x less money the EpiDot sounds badass
Holy shit, I want Pod Farm to have my babies. Making my $159 SX thinline tele copy sound like God whispering and shit.
