This is my original username. Well I did have a secondary username so I could troll top MVC2 players who would post here, and comment on MVC2 threads like who should be part of team West Coast vs Team East Coast 5v5 without offending the local players here. I was a big fan of mixup/florida and the seattle crew, couldn’t offend the Socal players.
Yeah I remember your posts…I used to be like man this guy is so negative from reading your old posts but now that I’m older, shit is true. It’s a hard pill to swallow. I’m making $$$ and own my own property, actually paid off my new car last year. But the dating game ain’t that great and it’s still an uphill battle.
Sad to see the forums go. I haven’t posted much on here but i have posted time from time again. I blame the damn discord if this is true about the srk forums closing for good

Obviously. If it’s about money, then it’s 2018. People get free money just for asking on Gofundme. Or better yet, somebody get their sister to sign up on IG and start selling detox tea.
On top of that, the forums definitely need to be scaled back to just bare essentials.
I just think it’s hilarious they would rather throw away nearly 20 years of forum history. Or perhaps this is all part of the plan, to invoke empathy and get donations without asking.

Now that my furor over this incredibly surprising development. I still have to give the Cannons their dues. They managed to create a forum which impacted our lives beyond measure. In the 18 years of this site’s existence I can’t remember not at least browsing it for more than 2 weeks. Although my visiting waned from time to time due to the loss of popularity of games I loved like CVS2 and MVC2, which eventually made GenD my go-to spot, I always took comfort that this was a site I could visit to discuss anything and everything.
That said, this site doesn’t deserve to go out like this…

For the forums. We all knew this was coming and most of us have been around long enough to know that “monthly” donations never last very long. We’d last a few months maybe a year before donations start dropping.
DevilJin 01 is a shit poster? He has 58,000 posts, minus however many other posts he lost when these forums were purged way back. No doubt he has amassed close to 100,000 posts in his time spent here. That’s time

Social media is horrible, honestly trying to read twitter is not fun, and how you gonna write a breakdown in 140 characters? Reddit makes no fucking sense.
Tried telling people. A YT account wth 10k subs reaches way more eyeballs. People here attacked Maximillion who has 500k subs, again 100,000X the eyeballs here. Shouting out a window reaches more people.

Yeah the detailed sticky forum posts were always my go to even in these days of discord, youtube, and twitter the breakdowns just have always been better in a forum style. Not gonna lie chokes me up a bit. While i’ve not posted as much recently, I have never stopped lurking multiple times a week and honestly this site is the only reason I know when events are going on and when I should care to tune in. Reddit just isn’t useful for small time questions in my experience.
I definitely want to archive certain stuff like the Tiers for Obscure games thread because that is shit that is decades of interesting info that is just interesting as a long time fighting gamer to go back and see. Be sad to see it go. Been a privilege guys.
