Yeah 13 hours difference blegh. Factor in that I can’t really play Showdown while at work, and well…
For the duration of the tourney I’ll be sitting around in the Video Game lobby in Showdown, just in case people need to look for me. If I’m not there then I’m offline already
Hmm, I’d like to see base stats on the team builder and on screen displays for weather, screens, mold breaker, etc. Hard to see those in the chat log sometimes.
Been messing around with focus sash, pickpocket weavile with all the genesects running in the showdown simulator.
Beyond satisfying stealing his scarf and having people ragequit cause their precious genesect is useless.
My Heatran from Pearl is Brave nature… damn. RIP
When do you want to do our battle The Damned?
Well, just like I said, it’s time for MOOD4FOOD77’S POKEMONNNNNN OF THE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKK!!!
Anyway, I have decided to go with something that I have learned to despise in recent weeks. Just, this one douchebag of a Pokemon:
This motherfucker right here has become a real force in the metagame. He can takes a beating and definitely dishes it back. The one and only set you will pretty much see this whore run is:
Conkeldurr @ Assault Vest
Guts / Adamant
252 HP / 252 Atk / 6 SpD
Drain Punch
Mach Punch
Knock Off
Ice Punch / Stone Edge
and with good reason. Thanks to Assault Vest, he weaker Special Defense now becomes his strong point. Assault Vest boosts his special defense from a stat of 167 to 250. With an already impressive 105/95 physically defensive spread, he can now take tank pretty much any non-supereffective hit pretty well. Having access to drain punch now gives him recovery that he can use along with Assault Vest, Mach Punch gives him priority, Knock Off is a ridiculous move nowadays, and finally his last moveslot is for coverage. Ice Punch is preferred to take care of Gliscor and Landorus-T who are bigger threats to Conk than almost anything. Stone Edge covers Gyarados, Talonflame, and other SR weak mons. He has an astoundingly high Attack stat of 140 which really makes him scary. On top of all this, he has guts. You think throwing out Will-o-Wisp is a safe option? Well, not with this thing seeing increased usage. A burned Conkeldurr will have an Attack stat of 624. Good luck surviving hits from this thing.
There isn’t really much that fucks this thing over except for Knock-Off and Trick/Switcheroo. Removing his Assault Vest is by far the easiest way to take care of him and even after it’s gone, he’s still a huge threat thanks to his really high attack stat. He is also easily revenge killed by Talonflame and other flying types. Mega Pinsir has to watch out for Ice Punch but other than that, he will make Conkeldurr’s life a mess. Mega Venusaur 100% hard walls Conkeldurr. Mega Charizard Y can also put a hurting onto Conk but has to watch out for Stone Edge. Togekiss won’t take too kindly to Ice Punch/Stone Edge but threatens with Stab Air Slashes and Moonblasts. Also having a 4x resistance to fighting means that Conk is not healing any life off of Togekiss. Fairies in general give conk a hard time but do remember than they are not physically bulky and will take a lot of damage even from resisted moves, especially if conk is statused.
While Conk has other sets, this is by far the most effective and most threatening set you will see of him. It completely fucks over non trick rotoms while also having the power of the Mega Pokemon. But just for you guys, I’ll give you a few other sets that he could run:
Conkeldurr @ Choice Band
Iron Fist/Guts / Adamant
252 HP / 252 Atk / 6 SpD
Drain Punch
Mach Punch
Knock Off
Ice Punch
What’s scarier than a 140 base attack Pokemon? A choice banded base 140 attack Pokemon. Using Iron Fist means his punch moves are all stronger, guts means you don’t want to status him. It’s pretty effective and with Iron Fist, makes for a pretty nasty revenge killer that has some bulk. Problem is that he’s locked into 1 move and will be forced to switch out every now and again.
Conkeldurr @ Leftovers
Guts / Adamant
252 HP / 252 Atk / 6 SpD
Bulk Up
Drain Punch
Mach Punch
Knock Off
Ah, good ol’ Bulk Up Conkeldurr. While the AV set is way more threatening, this set still brings fear into the opponent. After 1 Bulk Up, your opponent better have Skarmory or something ridiculously bulky just to take attacks from this monster. Like other sets, you do not want to status this fucker at any point, it’ll just make him scarier. His good bulk is especially welcome here as this set is meant to take hits often.
Well, this concludes Mood4food77’s POKEMON OF THE WEEK! Hope you all enjoy!
Kay. Give me 5 minutes and I’ll be on Showdown.
ok IGN is r00ster I am in the lobby
My Showdown name is ThaDukeC. I’m in the Lobby, just challenge me. I’m bloody terrible when it comes to finding people.
as i said before, it’ll be easier to find each other if you agree upon a less populated lobby, so i suggested Video Games.
@mood4food
You got the wrong base stats for Conkeldurr.
His attack is 140 and his defense is 95.
Also, what about a competitive set without tutor moves?
GG’s DukeC
@Po Pimpus you fight me next.
Use his AV setup
Mach punch
Drain punch
Payback
Stonedge
I recommend these EV’s 252 atk 248 spd 8 def
Might do a write-up for Talonflame.
oh yea forgot about tutor moves and such
use max HP when using Conk, it’ll give you much better mixed defensive capabilities
Let me know when you’re free to battle. I’m good to go whenever.
Since my Heatran is Brave nature, my friend told me to teach it Explosion. Should I do it? Stealth Rock/Explosion lead?!
