Ever had one of those meetings where some project manager hotshot starts talking out of their ass but really has zero fuckin’ clue wtf they are talking about? I was in one such meeting today. Me the entire time:

The realness: Nothing happened, just like Trannygate, only with less angst from Azure. I have a girlfriend, so it never once crossed my mind. We sat and chatted a bit, namely talked about how exhausting Evo is, I had been up almost 20 hours by that time. We were gonna run casual sets but there were no setups open to play on due to the Japanese and Koreans running money match trains on Wolfkrone and Xiaohai and the Taiwanese players. By the time there was one open, she was leaving to catch her flight and that’s that.
I was actually chomping at the bit to play and test my mettle. I know she’s pretty good, but I heard she just barely missed getting out of pools so I figured I had a good shot of not only winning against a decent Japanese player, but also learning from it. Unbeknownst to me at that time, the reason Kayo didn’t make it out of pools was partly due to facing Daigo in Winner’s Finals of pools.
But all-in-all, super friendly person, pretty down to earth when you factor in that Kayo has fame that extends beyond the FGC and into mainstream Japanese media.
I did have to hold back screaming, “OH DELICIOUS IRONY” when I first realized it was Kayo, which happened on Friday night as I was leaving, and was going to go say bye to Gerald from Core-A Gaming, and they were shaking hands. When I heard the words “I’m Kayo,” the only reason those words didn’t come out was because I was choking on my tongue.
I also figured it would be poor taste to thank her for giving me a muse for one of the greatest trollings SRK has ever been put through.[/details]
