Well, the Juri community is still fairly small. I think one room is okay. If it starts seeming chaotic, we could always make a SFxT room. For now, I think one room is easier because players like myself who maimed Juri in Super can find matches in either game.

However, if you want a fresh start, why not a new room?

well…I suppose I’m gonna go head and get into this game (havent had time to pop it open much…)…and stick with our girl(wanted Juri to be my AE only character)…was just in training mode trying to adjust to the new stuff…Cr. Hp> J. faps is a bitch to connect after a BNB corner pinwheel combo for me right now…been tryin to pair her up with Asuka being there’s alot of tech out for them already…but I wanna tighten up Ms. Han first in training mode before I start crackin open Ms. Kazama (I can do a litle bit with her tho)…i’m still not totally sold on this team…but I need to stick with a team for this game until I get comfortable. I probably still wont have much time for this game until after the semester is over…and even less time if Skullgirls pulls me in the way I think it might…but I’m tryin to put forth the effort to find time to play this game.

Ya lets just stick with the chat room we got now. if things start to get busy, i will make a new chat room just for SFxT.

Also i will need some help running the GJ_SFxT account. Someone who will add players and invite people to the chat room whenever i don’t.

@Ramma & @Boitacarton you guys interested? You guys always show up for the psn sessions so I’m sure you guys wouldn’t have a problem helping out. if you guys aren’t interested thats fine. I’m also gonna ask SSJCell cuz that guys always on too lol :P.

So I finally got to play Stekken against actual people yesterday and I’ve realized something.
I’m awful at opening people up with Juri.

Really, I’m not sure what I should be doing when they block my dive kicks, my jump-in’s, my blocked cr.RH > jc > Cross-Up Forward…
I try to slip her overhead into my blockstrings, but I’ve been consistently getting jabbed out of them.

Any suggestions?

Use her fireball store frame traps. Very important.

Curious, what is everyone using as punisher? I think the good old cr. Hp xx PW is probably dated.

Don’t just jump around, do random dive kicks, or gimmick setups because that’s just XBL/PSN Juri play. Start playing some street fighter and play footsies against your opponent. In this game out footsieing your opponent leads into 20-40%+ damage so you want to get proficient at it sooner then later. Juri has better walk speed then a lot of the cast now so she can actually play a footsie game.

Once you out footsie your opponent they’re going to get frustrated and will probably start jumping. If you space yourself correctly that’s a free c.Fierce, jc, j.Fierce, and either end it in s.Fierce xx Short Pinwheel/Fuhajin or c.Forward xx Super. That’s 30-50% damage because they played stupid and decided to jump. It’s easier to frustrate the Tekken cast like this because their walk speed is ass. It’ll be harder to do this against the SF cast though.

I think the standard mid-screen punish was c.Fierce, jc, Short Dive Kick, c.Strong, Fuhajin Store. Though if you know you can push them into the corner then c.Fierce, RH Pinwheel, (corner), c.Fierce, jc, j.Fierce, ender of your choice.

@Shake Sure I can help as I can but I can’t guarantee to be online everytime to play. And PC Juris will get mad at me if I leave them :stuck_out_tongue:

I just got the game since 2 days, it’s hard to keep away SF4 habits like the Focus attack but I love the new Juri. I just have to remember to use her new tools. I still didn’t find my tag partner, I wanted Poison (love lips licking crazy chicks :P) but she doesn’t feel like the best synergy since she’s mostly a zoner keepaway but not as good as Juri. Trying Xiaoyu only to be lost with her complicated movestyle. And now I want to tag with Asuka or Nina.

After playing yesterday with friends, one of them who plays heihachi was getting so frustrated of my anti airs :stuck_out_tongue: Jumping on Juri is definitly a bad idea now.
Oh and yeah 2vs2 tag teams is so much fun :smiley: and it’s pretty good for me since I don’t have a tag char and tag combos

Juri anti-air combos are the reason i picked her up. that and being able to do 50% off of almost any hit once you have 2 bars. the fact that she has great normals, a high damage throw, safe pressure, and a fireball just makes her one of the easiest choices to make in this game.

finding a partner is hard, im using rolento, because he is really great all around too, but he is a tad boring, kazuya looks more fun, but is much harder to use

I still use that as a punish because its simple and pushes someone into the corner where you want them. Plus if you have two meter you can super after a MK Pinwheel for half health.

If you like abusing Juri’s anti air, try Marduk out as a partner. cr. HP ~ jc ~ j. HP ~ s. HP ~ HK Fuhajin (Store) ~ Tag ~ HK Fuhajin (Release) ~ j. HK ~ s. HP ~ HP Gator Slam gets you 534 damage off an anti air (556 damage if the anti air was a counter hit :D) All for 1 bar of meter too!

learn tag combos from alpha counter, i feel that is important esp since she doesn’t have a reliable wakeup (well i guess a late ex pinwheel tagged could work, but that’s going to be alpha countered eventually lol)

Who likes gimmicks?? End a combo with hk pinwheel and take a few steps back. If they forward roll you can raw super on reaction for a very hard to see 50/50 left/right mixup. I recommend never using this.

welp. Gonna go back to juri next week and hit the lab with her and figure some stuff out. Think i found a partner. I think law might suit her well =D

i have a fairly stupid question maybe…

im having MAD trouble getting her Jumping HP to link from her c.HP (the ground bounce). it only connects 20% of the time for me, and misses the rest of the time. (doing it after a juggle of course)… is there some timing im not getting?

what exactly are you having problems with with that combo?
in general; you want to hit the opponent as high as possible w/ crouching hp’s hitbox. so hit that as early as possible. then jump forward and get em with the j HP, this timing depends on how early you hit them with cr HP

For me it only works when they are above a certain height. You might be doing the c.hp too late for it to link the ground bounce (GOOMBA STOMP!!). The way I found the sweet spot is by finding out just how early i can do the c.hp. Meaning that i did the combo all the way up to that point, and then i spammed the shit out of c.hp. Now that i knew how early i could do it, I just practiced the timing. Basically what I am saying is the earlier you do c.hp the better your chances are to link ground bounce
