yes.
No actually.
I was doing some tests before 2013 came out and you couldn’t grab Juri if she did wake up EX Senpusha or even EX Fuhajin. She was clearly considered airborne for some frames. I’m guessing you can throw her now because throws are 2 frames faster and/or maybe the moves aren’t airborne anymore.
Also, Sekku counter hit > cr.mp worked in vanilla. It was a 1 frame link. Sekku (ch) > cr.mk didn’t work.
Ex senpusha beats out alot of things.
Does Juri get along with anyone new? I stopped playing a month in and now that I’m back I’m not sure I like my old Juri/Hwo team. I remember liking her with Poison but there not being a lot of synnergy. How about the DLC characters?
Right now, I team her with either Cammy or Marduk (my main rotation). Previously I’ve ran her with Alisa, Law, Julia, and Nina with positive results. As of last night, I teamed her with Paul on anchor and it worked pretty well also, as she can get Paul the meter he needs to go nuts.
Poison I feel is a tough one though, especially since neither of them can really do great damage midscreen (as far as I know) and Poison is already kinda’ hard to tag from, but it can be a really annoying zoning team.
It’s also ironic that despite her sadistic persona, she seems to have good tag synergy with a lot of the cast. :razzy:
In vanilla EX Senpusha’s airborne frames start at frame 11 and ends at frame 50. I think it has something more to do with full invulnerability which makes it impossible to throw, isn’t it? Full body invulnerability starts at frame 1 and ends at frame 14.
Regarding full body invulnerability, it simply means that there is no hurtbox during the frames, right?
No, Ex Senpusha is/was always Fully invincible to everything. 2 problems are present. 1) lag 2) it’s a charge attack. saem thing happened with gief’s ex SPD. I was acutally abel to throw him out of Ex spd…yet he has FBI frames from 1-6. But lost to a normal throw. Super charging attacks can cause a dleayed reaction in your reversal. Lag is a big factor as well. Because I’ve beaten out so many attacks with a reversal Ex senpusha. It’s beause of SC delay and lag.
The character isn’t new, but his functionality is: Abel pairs nicely with Juri now after his buffs. When you float them off a senpusha xx tag, you can lk wheel kick to bound them and then forward kick xx dash, cl.HP xx HP falling sky or go into change of direction if the wheel kick from senpusha throws them back out of step kick range. Pretty decent damage and a switch for only one bar, plus Abel covers some of Juri’s weaknesses pretty nicely (her mix up/oki is only okay, but Abel’s is pretty scary, her ways to discourage the opponent from waking up pressing buttons are a bit more risky, but Abel has EX tornado and EX change). It’s also a nice bonus that Abel always wants all of the meter for COD, TT, and his amazing super and Juri is a good battery that doesn’t spend much meter.
Also, if you have a jump happy opponent or you can panic them into trying to jump out of a corner or something, you can win a lot of matches with Juri x Abel just off your free Anti-Air combos.
Also: Play her with Hugo. Just because I love him.
Juri mix-up only ok? what? Are you kidding me? She’s got mix-ups up the ying-yang. Sekku mix-ups, Fuhajin mix-ups, dash mix-ups, Ex Shikusen mix-ups, L senpsha mix-ups, kasatushi mix-ups.
Hell even throw mix-ups. Girls got game.
Would you expand upon the idea of an EX Shikusen mix up? Seems like a huge risk to use it as a part of a mixup.
Well Ex Shikusen, by itself, it’s not bad. The juggle potential is mostly all used up. So the only things that can combo off it are st. fierce, st. roudhouse, L senpusha, or j. roundhouse. If you wish to spend to bars you can combo off M/H senpusha then switch cancel.
Well…I guess you can call it a L senpusha mix-up since you are technically using it to end the combo after Ex Shikusen. Timing L senpusha after the WB can lead to ambigous cross-ups. damn I need vdeo. Give me…about 3 hours I should be able to cook something up.
Yeah, I know that much of course. Maybe I misunderstood your intention but what you said had me picturing the idea of using it during a string of attacks, like for example maybe a frame trap to bait an attack and then jump back EX Shikusen to punish the baited attack. But the idea of doing something like that sounded unsafe to me which is why I questioned you. A wrong guess where the attack wasn’t successfully baited and you’ll eat dirt for it.
I’m sure I made a mistake on what you meant though.
I meant was timing L Senpusha after Ex Shikusen that it becomes very difficult to read whether or not Juri crosses them up or not. If you cross-up you can stuff everything exccept for Juri’s own EX Senpusha. It even beats out double Lariat from Gief.
On a related note, i’ll admit I haven’t messed with EX Shikusen enough, but I did today. And I guess you can Raw Tag off of it too if you walk forward a step or so. Does just as much damage as a LK Senpusha too. Probably already knew this but I didn’t see it in your list so I figured i’d mention it.
Wait wait, raw tag off Ex shikusen? They changed the wall bounce to an untechable knockdown now? That’s new. Wait I’m confused when would you raw tag? after L senpusha?
Its EX Shikusen > Wall Bounce > Walk forward a step and do Raw Tag. Should hit them during the fall before they hit the ground.
I think you mean raw launcher.
Yes I just realized that. I mean Raw Launcher. Sorry for the confusion. >_<
Raw launcher works? Did they decrease the Ex Shikusen’s juggle potential eat up? Because I know before it ate up like 4/5 juggle potential. Was that stealth changed?
