Fine, then. All I wanted to say is that no matter the technological advances, DNA will still exist. And there are some people who, honest to god (pun intended), don’t believe in DNA (usually fat hillbillies in rocking chairs with XXX jugs of alcohol and a shotgun, surrounded by their 9 incest-born children). That’s the point I wanted to make, along with that it doesn’t matter how anyone FEELS about a situation, “So-and-so’s DNA was inside the rape victim” is evidence that will never change with the times (unless they start using condoms…).
The only possibles I see are to where we got today are Evolutionism, Creationism, and this weird ass story I heard about some niggas who believe that humans came from some alien soul ship that crash landed on Jupiter or some shit. I can’t think of any other possibility to even consider.
When I heard in biology about Natural Selection, it made sense given things I’d learned myself: When you experience a situation, you learn from it, yes? When you work out, you grow muscles, yes? Natural Selection was simply that, but over a longer period of time. The example I was given in school was say there are 50 white rabbits and 50 brown rabbits in a snowy environment. Which ones are going to live the longest? The white rabbits, because they blend with the snow. So, the white rabbits are going to have children with, most likely, other white rabbits. Then their little rabbits come out white rabbits. Let this go on long enough, and all the brown rabbits will be dead, and only white rabbits will exist, having white rabbit babies.
I feel it’s stupid to think that, with the evidence available of animals and Dinosaurs changing to specifically suit their environment, that intelligent design happened. Although, maybe he did create every change that’s ever happened to animals, us included, and is still at work today, only invisible. I also think it’s stupid, if not gotten from my tone, about the alien soul ship or whatever.
However, if you do have a POV that’s different from mine, would you care to share it? People wonder how this turned into a EvC thread: how could it not? Creationism is the only real opposing belief (aside from soul ship) that people can think of. Does someone mind explaining what they believe happened? if not one of the two?
I don’t have a different theory, I’m pretty much in the “science is right” boat.
But, that doesn’t mean I’ll go about disrespecting an opinion, or not giving it it’s fair chance, especially since the theory I follow only “makes sense” because I grew up in an environment where that was shown to me first.
Just like how I have friends who grew up with Creationlism, and they firmly believe in that, with their own logic, and that’s cool, I don’t think science will ever get the evolution theory 100% down until we actually do the whole scientific method thing.
So far, we, as scientists, have not observed an evolution that we ourselves have not altered in some way, shape or form.
The only reason most people except the answers they are given is because it “makes sense” without ever really question the knowledge they are basing their reasoning from.
I respect the people who go around, looking at different beliefs, and settling, instead of just being taught one, and then thinking their right.
I have no problem with other peoples’ opinions. It’s just that in these silly Evolution vs Creationism debates always, and I mean ALWAYS follow the same exact fucking flowchart. Instead of defending their own theory, many creationists just play fucking word games. How on Earth do you expect me to respect the opinion of somebody like that. I’m not saying that raving evolutionists are any better.
I think people who believe in their religion like that lose the second they feel the need to argue their beliefs.

I was taught Creationism first.
My mother and father (when he was there) didn’t try to influence my beliefs in anything, they allowed me to discover what I wanted to believe on my own. I went to a Catholic school for Elementary for nearly a year before they kicked me out. I kept questioning them, “Why did this person do this” “I don’t understand how this person thought that would work” “But I thought God said this” or something similar. I remember the nun who taught everything got really upset when one of the other kids started asking similar questions. I remember them teaching me that God created everything, that Humans were the first here, and we’ve all been exactly this way forever. That, even as a 6 year old, seemed nonsensical to me. Who knows, maybe my parents needed to force it down my throat as well for me to believe it. I was shown Natural Selection for the first time in high school, 11th grade Biology.
Basically, it doesn’t make sense for something to exist for as long as life has without changing. And even if it did, that would mean that we would still have things like Saber Tooth Tigers walking around. Extinction and the bones of ancestors show that there are both situations where an animal can no longer survive, and that what exists now is not the same as what once existed. Intelligent Design says fuck your evidence, this is what happened. Now, I am perfectly fine with people saying “God created everything”, just not the part where it’s said “as it is now”.
So, I understand you. “I have my beliefs, you have yours, no one deserves to have theirs shit on”. But, to me, it’s more important then that. If you have someone who can’t do multiplication, and instead just adds numbers together, and they are living in a world where multiplication is important, do you risk hurting their feelings by telling them they aren’t doing it right? That’s how I see it, anyway.
