I hope so as well, this would be Rose’s second involvement in a cross-over game (if Capcom Fighting Evolution counts). The question is, who would be her rival? Since the game will have assist attacks, who knows what Rose’s assist move would be.
Will they be like MvC assists or will they be only tag team hypers like in the SF X Tekken footage?
I don’t know anything about the Tekken universe to say who her rival would be
Zafina obv
Nice I read her bio on tekken wiki and she’s the perfect match for Rose being a mystical warrior, being able to tell the future etc. Good call!
I seriously doubt it, but hooray if she does!
Well I’m at the point where it’s about time I started to face the fact that I’m never going to be any good at this damn game. Haven’t gotten any better in the last month, if anything, I’ve gotten worse. My confidence in getting good is pretty much shattered…
Don’t say that, it will just be more of a obstacle to your improvement. If you have any visual sources of your gameplay, I’ll definitely try to help out in any way I can.
Unless Rose has been filming our matches where he beats the literal crap out of me, no I don’t.
Hmm. I’ll be getting on the 360 by the end of next week (maybe even by the end of this week), so hopefully I can help you from there.
Well I need SOMETHING. I hate plateauing.
Well, as of right now, what do you feel you have trouble with? Are you losing to a particular character most of the time? Do you have trouble in certain aspects of your gameplay, such as anti-airing, zoning, etc.? We can’t help you if you’re not specific as to what you need help with.
Let’s see…I’m losing to EVERYONE. My reaction time is absolutely terrible, I have crap meter management, I’m massively inconsistent with links, and I’m predictable. Specific enough?
You’ve lost literally every single match?
Approaches I would recommend:
Reaction time - Go into training mode, and practice setting up hypothetical situations (i.e., Reflecting any kind of projectile, punishing certain moves before they hit you, etc.). Keep practicing until you’re able to counter, punish, escape, etc.
Meter Management - This isn’t really something you can practice in training mode, but it obviously varies from match to match. Some things to keep in mind is, “Should I be FADC’ing Soul Spiral in order to avoid being punished by Ryu’s Shoryuken?”, or “Should I be using EX Soul Spark when my life meter is low?” These are just some questions to think about as you’re playing your matches.
Predictability - If you’re predictable and being punished for it, mix it up to throw your opponent off-guard. Predictability is a problem I’ve had a lot with fighting games in general, not just SSFIV. If you’re going for a throw after Rose’s slide every time, then your opponent will probably detect it right away if he/she is good. In that case, try doing c.MP right after some of her slides. This is just one of many examples. In my games, I really like to mix up my pokes. Sometimes I would do c.MP, c.MK, s.HK, in order to confuse my opponent as to whether block high or low, and to punish some of their moves.
Hopefully I generated some solutions that helped.
Rose is super predictable because she doesn’t have an overhead.
get over it lol.
well Rose doesn’t have much to even be all that flashy.
why are you wasting meter? Rose builds meter quick and outside of EX spiral and maybe EX soul spark, what are you wasting it on? I go matches where I don’t even use meter sometimes. I shouldn’t, but that’s cause most of her game doesn’t have to rely on EX that much.
reaction time? that’s a personal thing you need to work on. Only thing you really need “reaction time” for is cr.HP anyway.
links? you could plink. Though this is another thing Rose doesn’t have to really rely on too much since she doesn’t have that many BnB. (and most of them outside of the basic BnB waste meter.)
as for being predictable, that sounds more like needing to learn what Rose has to offer before going into being predictable. But how SF4 plays, you’re going to get predictable. Just a matter of mixing up the obvious with other things that are obvious but people forget. (if that makes sense to you.)
Rose is pretty straightforward overall. She relies more on her good normals than combos and tricks and whatnot. If you think about it, Rose has to lame it out in a smart way.
About the predictability: Learn her frame traps with her slide. Learn the correct distance of a blocked HP soul spiral. Use soul spark to end a blockstring sometimes instead of soul spiral. And end your blockstrings sometimes with just a mp. Also, drop links on purpose to get a throw opportunity or to bait a dp or some other move. Throw in some cross-ups. Whiff a c. lk or st. lk after a knock down and then throw them. Walk up to them and throw them.
There’s so many options, USE THEM!
If it helps, make a list of every possible combo/technique/set-up and try them out one by one!
And now, to top off my fun, my 360 just red-ringed. So yeah, universe seems to hate me all of a sudden.
The only thing that negative thinking brings is more negative things!
So I was playing some ranked matches yesterday, and sometimes it’s hard to find opponents with same skill or more skilled when you have too many points. So what I do is play random “Any” skill matches. It was so weird because everyone I was playing last night was dropping out! That usually doesn’t happen. I must have been really on top of my game and not letting them get in at all. lol
i gotta swear, that blanka vs rose is the most unfair matchup ive ever played.
Really? Play SF2:CE and then play Bison/Guile. You’ll change your tune real fast.
