im looking forward to this. SC is quite a simple game, this could create a movement. this is what i wanted them to do. to be honest i mained 3 characters in sc4 and 2 in sc5.
if i can get the game for free, find lost swords, look through the weapons and strategize, choose to spend like 20 on weapons/armour and im good to go- for £20/$20
this is great cant wait for the game which could grow into something huge when it moves on to ps4.
btw the single player is obviously aimed to accustom people to the weapon systems, game is supposed to be mystical yet has been putting a back seater to weapon mythology :wtf:
director:“ok this is set in a mystical world so we neeeed, a lizard with wings, great!”
designer:“but weapons even in real life had different attributes like-”
director:“look… gamers dont like to broaden their horizons, they like to pick up a game and use the same skill as theyve used in street fighter to thrive, i know it limits our creativity and hinders growth in the fighting game community ultimately pushing its state to the age of pre-sfiv but we need to get paid now and these fools are the ones to do it, now get those hitboxes from those games and get tweaking!”
The you realize that any sort of armor/weapon customization that affects characters stats and stuff like that won’t work for how we play competitive fighting games.
If this is going to be single player only, it better gives us answers to the questions left unanswered in SCV. I want to know what the hell happened to Kilik, Xianghua, and Taki, and how Xiba, Lexia, and Natsu become the new guys. I also want to know if Raphael is Graf Dumas.
If its like the SC3 story mode were it had fighting and RTS elements then its salvageable. If not its free whatevs, no coin out my pocket. SC2 HD is still the only thing going for Soul Calibur.
Not everyone plays the game the same way. Stop thinking just because people play competitive and hit this place up they don’t wanna have fun with stuff like this.
But why are we a community of fighting game players if not to meet and test one another’s talent?
Sure you CAN play fighting games by yourself but I think the community aspect relies entirely on encountering each other in battle, which this has no bearing on.
It’s not just us. Look at most competitive games. Most, like FGs, lack any sort of long term stat based customization. Everyone starts on an equal footing.
If it were loot driven but an expansive Co-op Beat’em Up, it could’ve been so cool. The SC universe lends itself very well to something like Golden Axe, the Mystara D&D games or Dragon’s Crown.
