Annoying female voices can be redeemed if there’s a taunt in versus mode loading screen, like in Soul Calibur 2.

First thing, the orb seems to be something that might actually fit s-kills old description of what a projectile should do in a fighting games (control space and act as a setup), but in a 3D fighter.

Wow, that Viola looks really fun to play. Seems like a complex character, but she will probably be easy to open up and discover her potential. In case Tira ends up being a trash character(which it kinda seems like so far), I may have to fall back on this new gal.

Like no one has ever bought something based on someones recommendation. Most e-commerce sites have a place for customer reviews for a reason.
And I trust Jaxel’s opinion on this because he has the same opinions I did on the SC series and he hates everything, so him saying he loves SC5 is like a “wow really? It must be good.” It’s the opposite with Mike Ross, who seems to think everything is the best. If he said something was really bad, that would be worthy of note.
I accept that I may not end up not liking it even though Jaxel loves it. If there is a demo before release, of course I’ll be trying that out.
Supposedly she actually has crazy high damage output (like over half health, but she takes damage so…). Also, players generally suck at playing her, she takes a lot of work to use.
If Viola can set up that orb to come in low from behind that would be fucking SIIIIIICK.
I also noticed that if her throw doesnt have a follow up then its obviously got orb placement. She looks awesome.

PS- this game has really ventured into the supernatural. I’m guessing plain jane soul calibur wasnt flashy enough to compete to the fighters out right now.

Considering SCV takes place 17 years after the last game you’re being unreasonable to assume the entire cast to return.
SC always had a problem with fanservice trying to squish in everyone, I wouldnt be surprised in SCV had skin swaps of old characters, though.
Well i don’t hope that everyone returns mainly kilik, lol no no but i get what you mean would be cool. Hell even if they add the ones that aren’t in as a DLC would be kinda cool to see my faves 17 years later.

Kilik, Seung Mina, Sophitia, Rock…I could care less. I’m not even sure why they decided to keep Maxi and Ralph. They should both be in their 40s by now.
Siegfried was the original Nightmare and Mitsurugi is the serie’s “Ryu” so I understand. Ivy and Cervantes are also two staples…but honestly the entire SC cast is expendable.
Voldo was old in Calibur 1 so he might as well remain. Only complaints now are Natsu looks ridiculous, and Zwei is uninspired.
Viola looks godlike. And hell, they aren’t even trying to hide that she’s Amy. She even has some of Amy’s rapier moves adapted for her claw.
